It would help if you are able to provide the actual model number of your dishwasher.

Bravo 300 has several models and the structure of the machine can vary.

Generally f51 error comes when the wash motor rotor is having some problems.
The problem could be in the electricals.

Happy to provide more details if you post the model no.

You may have not realised this but the problem with your clothes washer is included in the dishwasher category and hence my confusion.

Thanks for providing the model no. However I am assuming the model no. is MVWB700VQ as the 8 could be a B.

If you do not have a user manual for this you can dowload it from this site. As you will notice on page 13 the "F##" codes are malfunction codes and if it does not go away after pressing Power/ Cancel you have to call Maytag support.

However, having said that the problem is linked to the rotary position sensor (RPS) which you can see in this diagram on page 5. Part no. 20.

People have had to replace this to get rid of the F51 error. I am not sure if you are going to replace it yourself. The part looks like this.

I hope all this helps you with the solution. Please rate the solution if useful otherwise post a comment and I will try to help further if I can.

    Thankyou for using fixya.com.

I have a quiet series 300 and it does that, too. I think it just balances the load before washing and is normal. I found this in the manual:

Maytag bravo quiet series 300: Stopped at spin:

We have a Maytag Bravo Quiet Series 300 washing machine, the door latch is broken. I have the replacement part ( the locking mechanism) but I need can not figure out how to get the top of the washer to flip up to give me access to top front of the machine to remove the old part and replace it with the new.

How do I flip back the top (not the door) of this machine?

Washer won't advance from cycle to cycle

When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

* It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never
advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace
the timer.

* It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates,
drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

Hi jeffwirch,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your problem is: You have a maytag quiet series 300. When it is done with any of the cycles in leaves about 1-2 inches of water in the bottom of the dishwasher. You can manually hit the start button twice and it will go through a 2 minute cycle and pump out the water. You have cleaned the filter inside the dishwasher where it drains and have checked the hose to the disposal and it pumps out fine. It just doen't pump itself at the end of the cycle.

It sounds like a bad control board. It's in the top of the door panel. I don't recomend this repair to the average homeowner. You might consider the Repair Directory to find a repairman.
