Question about Boxlight SP 6t Multimedia Projector

2 Answers

Boxlight sp-6T just died after turning it off. No lights, dead!

Yes, I forgot to do the maintenance and the filters were a mess. I bought it used so I have no idea how much time was left on the 2000hr bulb.
I bought it in Dec and have used it a great deal.

The bulb has a white (looks burned) spot right in the center. Do you think my only problem may be a bulb. Can I reset the overheat switch? What do you think guys.

Thanks,
Ray

    Thanks for the feedback.

I talked to the BoxLight folks this morning and he said even if the bulb was blown or taken out completely, the unit should turn on. My unit is completely dead. He figured that it was the power supply and suggested a replacement be purchased. Or maybe a dead fuse which he really doubted.

The bulb and the white spot in the middle of the lens, he said was normal according to what type of an environment the unit was used in. Dust, etc. sort of got burned in but as long as the inside of the bulb was clear, he indicated that the bulb was not blown. Which is the case with my bulb. I really hate to have to purchase a new unit.

    Thanks for all the help.

    Ray

It sounds like the only problem is really the bulb but it wouldn't hurt to clean out everything. Replacing the bulb should then fix your problem and it should last the rated hours. If you have any further questions, please let me know and I would be glad to answer any and all questions that you may have.

good luck

I wasn't aware that you couldn't turn it back on, I thought you meant that it just shut off on you and the bulb wouldn't display a picture at all. Yeah, like the guy said, probably a power supply problem which would be very expensive to replace but good luck on whatever you decide do with this

Wwell, my opinion would be to first change the bulb and see. If that resolves the issue, then then is no other component failure. If that does not resolve the issue, please post back after replacing the bulb and we will troubleshoot further..

It would be a good idea to change the filters and do a full maintenance on the piece as well.

Check the fuse first...thats the cheaper option. If the fuse is Ok, like the support guy said, you may have to replace the power supply

I recently bought a second hand 1994 model toyota corolla SE limited edition, the milage are already 191000 km. with proper mentainance, how long does this unit last?5 years more or 10 from now.?

Toyota is a good car. If there is a proper maintenance, it could go to an addition of 100000km until it dies . We have to go by the distance since it determines the wear out. If you can make this distance in 10 years, then it is yes for 10 years. If you can make this distance within 5 years then it can be also yes. Maintenance during the period is including timing belt change, water pump, and radiator replacement. Oil , oil filter, air filter, and fuel filter need to be replaced per maintenance schedule, then you are good with a condition that you have a good compression ratio at the time you bought the car. Have shop to check this before invest in the replacement. Good luck.

When turn on - Image have double shadow like 3D, bold horizontal lines jumping across, hardly read the menu.

Shut down the computer, load into BIOS, if problem exists, the issue is likely with the monitor, try another monitor, if issue exists, else if in BIOS, the display is perfect, the graphics card driver needs to be updated or the graphics card needs to be replaced.

HI. I have boxlight xd-9m. Picture was fine, then a blue flash of light from the unit. Now both dead. Replaced bulb, but still no green power indicator comes on. Ideas? Thanks

the power supply has blown. unfortunately, there are no parts available for this model, so check the power supply board for scorch marks or blown parts and replace as necessary.
