The buzz you hear is the compressor trying to start . i would think that the start device ( relay located on the side of compressor has failed and will not start it . this is a common service . it will have to be replaced . . it has been failing or not always starting like it should for several week and it has now give up.. its not a tuff repair but should be done by a tech that can do it properly .. mm also make sure the coil is clean and fan is working . mm

If this is a top freezer model, remove the bottom and back freezer panels. You will find the defrost drain line frozen over.
It must be defrosted manually. A hair dryer will help melt the ice.

Possible defrost problem. If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air.Since you've already replaced the motherboard Checkdefrost heater, defrost thermostat

Freezer works, fridge doesn't cool

Probably excessive ice in the condensor. Likely defrost thermostat or defrost heater problem.

What happens is excessive ice keeps airflow from the refrigerator part of the unit.

Fridge not staying cool, freezer still freezing

Try defrosting freezer, sometimes when the defrost thermostat fails it causes ice too build up behind the walls of the freezer then it restricts the air flow to the refer side. If it works after defrosting then you probably need to get a new defrost thermostat.

Freezer cold, but Fridge only a little cool

Sounds like you have a defrost problem either the Timer /Heater or Bi-metal stat is bad. you can unthaw and the unit will work fine for about a week until it frosts up again Where was this screw they said was loose?? have them check the defrost system.

Refrigerator warm, freezer cold

Totally Unreasonable if you don't mind me saying so. The person who told you that story was thinking of an absorption unit more than likely.

Your proble is related to the defrost system of your refrigerator. There is a timer that automatically starts the defrost. It energizes the heaters that defrost the cooling coil. After the coil reaches a preset temperature a defrost terminator turns the heater off for the remaining time on the timer cycle. You could have a bad timer (stalled) which would not start the defrost. Locate the timer and turn the clutch head screw clockwise very SLOWLY until you hear one audible click. The defrost should take place and will be indicated by water in the drain pan under the refrigerator. If after 25 minutes it does not restart in the cooling mode turn the screw once again to the second click and replace the timer.

If the refrigerator restarts after 18-22 minutes and defrost does not take place your problem is in the heater circuit. Open heater or thermostat (termination switch)
