The exhaust fan grew more and more noisey then, stopped working all together. With the right parts, is this something that a homeowner can fix? Thanks, Paul

Yes it is a fairly straightforward repair
If it is built in, then you will have to remove it from the unit.
The fan is usually located at the top of the outer casing, sometimes at the front, and others at the rear.
If it is freestanding, then it will mean removing side panels and top to gain access to the fan.

Whirlpool double oven has a loud fan when baking

There will be some noise from the fan, but it should not be excessive, if it is really loud, then this is an indication that the fan is failing, and should be replaced ASAP.

Whirlpool built-in double oven model# RBD305PDB12

the humming sound is coming from the "squirrel cage" fan in the back of the unit, there may be some resonance vibration from the fan this issue should be addressed by a qualified service tech, the whole wall oven needs to be pulled out, i would have him check the fan.

Noise from fan when electric oven is first turned on

The fans are not normally repairable, but there is no problem obtaining replacements.
On a double oven, there are usually 2 fans fitted.
There is an external cooling fan usually fitted on the top of the oven, you would have to remove the top cover of oven to access it, and possibly the rear panel as well.
Then there is the fan fitted in the main oven compartment.
If you open the oven door as it is working, you should be able to determine if it is the fan oven or the external cooling fan that is the cause of the problem.
If you determine it is the fan in the oven that is noisy, then to undo the fan blade assy, you have unscrew the nut clockwise to remove it. as opposed to the normal way of undoing a nut.
Please rate my fixya solution.
Thanks.
