Can not assemble epson lamp in compartment

On the front right where it says LIVINGSTATION, that panel lifts out. Inside you will see two screws, loosen them, (they will not come out because of a retainer) gently pull the box out. Once it is out, there is a wire retainer that has to be removed. Once that is removed, then loosen the nuts from the bulb. Then reassemble. Putting it back in, takes patience, do be in a hurry when putting it back in. It will only go in one way, make sure the bulb is facing the inside when sliding it back in. Hope this helps you..I haven't yet replaced the whole unit from epson ($300) only the bulb, which didn't need it after all. If you have any questions e mail me..

Have replaced my lamp myself. TV work fine. "Replace lamp" warning still appear when tv is turned on and yellow light still flashing.

You need to reset the "Lamp Hours" in your settings. It is a timer that just runs down, and doesn't know if you changed the bulb. It just needs to be reset to 0.

Can't turn on television two red lights on television

Make sure that all of the access doors are properly closed. There are interlocks there that will prevent the set from working if the door is open. Also, check to be sure that the fans turn freely and are clear of debris.

Please keep us updated on progress.

Thanks,

Overheating

There are contacts inside the Livingstation that make contact with the heat sensor on the bulb. If you take the bulb out you will see them in the upper right corner of the bulb housing in the TV. These can become corroded resulting in a poor connection between the TV and the bulb. A poor connection will make the TV think it's over heating even if it's not. There are 3 contacts in the TV and 3 on the bulb. Clean these contacts with a lint free cloth and some alcohol on both the TV and the bulb, being careful not to let your fingers touch the bulb. If your hands are too big to reach inside the TV, rub a pencil's eraser over the contacts to clean them. When putting the bulb back into the TV, seat as firmly as possible, then tighten the upper right screw first.

Life of a bulb

Hello,

I too have an early P1 series Livingstation with a bulb that MAY be going out. I've been searching online and found several suppliers with prices ranging from $249 to $367. the Epson store seems to be the cheapest and probably most reliable supplier at $249 including shipping! http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/ProductQuickSpec.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=40809413&category=

The stated life of the bulb is 10,000 hours ... and I've had my LSP1 for perhaps 4 years. We use it kind of heavily - and I'd say we've used it roughly 30-40 hours a week... and over 4 years I'd say that equates to 200 weeks at 30-40 hours = 6000-8000 hours of use already. So, once I replace the current lamp - if the replacement works well... then I'll immediately buy a spare bulb. That will enable effective use for another 20,000 hours with the new replacement and spare. That hould last me about 9-11 more years for only $500 or so.... assuming I get 4.5-5.5 years of use per bulb.

LS47P1 Epson Living Station

Sounds like it might me a source or connection issue. However, you would know to check that - right? Just the other day i had a damaged cable cause an image problem. I replaced it and all is well again.

If not a source or cable issue - then this sounds like you'll need a service call from an Epson tech. I'd give them and - might I add - I'd apprecaite knowing how this turned out. I wonder how I might have to deal with problems down the road... IE get service and fix it or just throw out the Livingstation!?
