My 92 chevy silverado will not start.I have a new starter,good battery and all the lights come on when i turn the key but nothing else.

Sounds like a starter to me. Try hitting the starter with a crowbar a couple times. If it starts it's def the starter. Also you can unhook the battery wire on the starter and see if it gets power (with a voltmeter) when you turn the key.

I would start with the cable connections, make sure they are corrosion free. THEN, bieng a newer vehical, call a dealer and see if your switch falls under a Recall or Service Bulliten.

have the battery load tested for cell failure. IT will have enough current for lights etc but not enough for the starter solenoid

When you turn the key to start does the starter engage an spin the engine ? or nothing happens .
the lights and music come on but the motor will not start when I turn the key ??????? Will not start how ?

sounds like a bad solenoid on starter have the starter checked

try main fuse in fuse box under hood also starter

If you have to arch the starter solenoid then its your starter goinng bad. It would be a good idea to also get your batterie tested to make sure you have all your bases covered.(starter & Batterie can be tested at your local parts store)

if you have a standard transmission,check the switch on the clutch pedal,if you have an automatic trans,check the purple wire on the solenoid while a friend tries to start it to see if the power is getting to the starter,if it is replace the starter,if not check the starter relay first,then the neutral starting switch.

recheck battery cables make sure there clean and tight. sounds like its not geting good conection, or starter is bad.

Check your courtesy fuse, battery connections or test battery itself.
