My Hoover 600mb won't completely spin dry on medium to heavier loads. Clothes still wet. Barrel still spins on most cycles.

Make sure the belt isn't loose or slipping, also check that the machine is pumping out properly. These will cause poor spin results. The MB series is a Simpson clone. if the clutch housing has started to throw oil / grease out, the clutch may be slipping. This fairly easy to diagnose. See if there is a "tide mark" of oil and grease around the cabinet in line of where the clutch is. (That is the gear shaped plastic bit which fits behind the main drive pulley under the gearbox under the machine) If there is a really bad oil stain / marks it will be a good idea that the gearbox / clutch has failed. Time for a new machine. generally, they are not economical to fix if the gearbox / clutch has failed.

Iv'e just stripped down and repaired my gearbox on my scooter. however i don't know what oil, grease is required could you help.

hji, on most scooters it recommended you use a semi fluid grease, recommend by shoprider on their scooters... plain grease is not ideal as it sticks to the sides of the casing , not lubricating anything ...

a thickest oil would also be ideal, however remember if no gasket is fitted it may leak...hence the semi fluid route..

I dont know what else to add other then the oil came out of the mixer when i moved and i do not know what type of oil to put back in it and where do i put it in to the mixer on my kitchen aid mixer

Wipe the oil off and carry on. Over time the gearbox grease breaks down and oil separates from the grease solids. Eventually the gearbox will need to be repacked with new grease. Don't worry about a drip or two in a cake, it's food grade grease so harmless.

Hoover 700lc is putting grease on clothes

The only part of the washer that has oil or grease is the transmission. This is a very bad sign because it says the transmission is leaking and the center seal is also letting the oil grease come through. I would start looking at new machines because it wont be cost effective to repair if you pay a service comapny and if you've never done one its not something you want tot learn on.

Oil on cloths after wash

Simpson washing machines are known for this, The seal in to top of the gearbox fails which allows water to enter the gearbox, this forces the grease out of the gearbox into the machine, The fix is an expensive gearbox swap.

Hy my inglish is not verry well i have a problem whith the gearbox of my rio 2004 it leaks oil at the ax thats conekted to the clutch and to fix it i have to split the gearbox is there a special way to...

no not really but it may be easier to buy another gearbox from scrapyard as splitting a manual gearbox is not that easy without the right tools, now what you do in this case is to remove the filler plug and then pump in with a grease gun some LM grease say about a half kilo can and what happens is the grease gets hot in driving and settles to the bottom of the gearbox sealing it up for you ,old fleet fitters trick from 40 yrs ago but it does work .cloudy and thunderstorm here in spain at the moment hence which is why iam on here and not in the garden watering my orange trees

Kitchenaid says to run the machine on 'high' long enough to heat the gearbox well and then turn the machine upside down and let it cool.

What happens is when you don't use your mixer a lot the grease in the gearbox will separate into oil and thicker grease. Warming it and turning it upside down is supposed to mix all the grease together again and allow it to flow to the top of the gearbox.

Give it a try, check back if you get no satisfaction and we'll get you started on changing your grease.

Taylor Y754-27 Soft Serve Ice cream machine

Gearboxes definitely go bad. The first sign is usually noise, I would describe it as a rumbling. The best way to determine if it's the gear box is:
1. empty and disconnect machine from power.
2. remove the freezer door and beater assembly
2. remove the rear panel - 4 screws
3. Remove the belts on the noisy side
4. Spin the big pulley and listen for the noise, you may want to remove the belts on the quiet side to compare the two.
I have a video that was shot to help change the hex coupler, but you would follow all of the same steps to replace the gear box.

Does the Freerider kensington have oil in the drive motor? if so how do I check it and what type and quanity does is it use? Also does anyone have a workshop manual for this

No Oil but you do have a grease nibble located on top of the gearbox, get hold of a grease gun and give it three squits of grease.

Makita 8406C Gearbox oil

It uses grease to lube the gearbox. makita supply their own grease so you should be able to get a small tube from your local dealer. You don't have to use Makita grease though, just general grease should be fine. Not too thick and heavy, or too oily and light. I know that sounds a bit vague. Do you have other machines that you have grease for? SDS hammer drills, saws, any small power tool like that will use a similar type of grease.
