Question about DFI 915P-TAG Motherboard

1 Answer

PC wont last more than 30 secs on. It shuts off and is not transmiting video. I have an nvidia 6200. Pentium 4. Tried new batt on BIOS, it made no difference. I had given up and didnt use it for a year. But now I needed it so I tried to turn it on, removed hdd (SATA), grafic card and ram and plugged it again, (didnt plug hdd), turned it on and it worked for a moment, passed memory test, and failed when it looked for the hdd, that raised my morale, for a minute there I thought it would work, so, i turned it off, plugged the hdd and turned it on, after that I had no video streamed to my vga monitor, it lasted 30 secs on, and then it shut down. can someone help me?

Hi Good day!! OK based on your troubleshooting, maybe the problem is on the board, maybe your board is over heating, try to check your cpu temperature at your bios setup. but before that pull out your Hardisk because we were testing only the board.
42degree = normal temperature
60+ degree = not good
90degree = critical state
100degree = boiling point and it will shutdown.

Have a dell dimension e520. Trying so install geforce 6200 pci graphics adapter. Tried to do what has been suggested online. Disable previous onboard adapter in device manager. Now wont boot to allow me to...

You don't disable it in Device Manager: reenable it immediately. The correct steps to replace the video card:
1 - you uninstall its driver and reboot at least twice.
2 - You install the new card, plug the Monitor in it and reboot at least once.
3 - you enter in the BIOS and disable it in there, and only in there, and you reboot at least twice with a check in the BIOS that it has remained disabled in between.
3 - you install the new driver.

Flickering or Blueing of Vison V221WD monitor.

Check all the cables, if it is not the cables being loose, then it is a component inside that is starting to fail.

Game graphical error

Wierd, I had this problem once, updating my driver simply fixed it. Do this: 1) Remove all nvidia products and drivers from your computer. 2) Reboot computer of course. 3) Go to Nvidi'as website and download the correct latest driver for your graphics card. 4) Reboot again. 5) Go test the game.

Game textures problem

Try uninstalling the driver and all nvidia products, download the latest driver from nvidia's website. If that doesnt work, then your motherboard is the problem. Older AGP motherboards tend to have problems witht eh geforce 6200/6600 series cards, I recommend updating those drivers and seeing what the deal is.
