Re: DVB -T Tuner express card 54
Are you sure that the correct drivers are installed and updated? Do you know what a driver is or where to look for them. What operating system are you using. Do you have the disk that came with the Acer? The disk should have the driver on it or software to make it work. How are you connecting to the card? It will be easier to have the laptop model number.

TV tuner cards allow you to view programming on a computer system. Although desktop computers
allow you to install internal TV tuner cards, laptop systems do not
have the available space for internal cards. Because of this, laptop
computers have PCI express card slots. This slot allows you to install
and remove (at your will) additional hardware, such as TV tuner cards.

Locate the PCI express card slot (located on the side of your computer
opposite the disc drive). Push in on the protective cover on the slot to
unlock it from the case. It pops out slightly, allowing you to remove
Slide in the TV tuner into the PCI express card slot. The card clicks
into place and a light blinks on when the card has connected
successfully to the laptop computer.
Insert the driver installation CD into the disc drive of the computer.
Momentarily a driver installation wizard appears on the screen. Click
"Next" on the welcome page, then accept the given license agreement.
Choose "Next" two more times, then select "Install" and the drivers from
the driver installation CD install onto the computer.
Eject the driver installation CD and insert the software installation
CD. This is the program you use to view the connected receiver. As with
the driver installation CD, wait for the installation wizard to load up
onto the screen. Accept the license agreement, leave the installation
name and location blank, then click "Install" to install the software.
Restart the computer. Upon restart the laptop is ready to begin using the TV tuner card.
Check and update all your sound cards ie....i/o sound cards and also inbuilt mottherboard's sound cards. Also check registery values , values might have gone changed due to virus infection. So try with another value like 1 for 0 and vice-versa, and also scan your system for virus. But before going through any of these, check your settings in control pannel in Hard ware and Sound options.
It has nothing to do with hard drive space. What kind of expansion slots are available on the computer? The newer TV tuner cards are most likely AGP or PCI-E. Unless you have a vacant slot for one of these cards, the answer is "no."
Reinstall the drivers, just put the driver CD given along with the
card, and autorun. OS will automatically list the available drivers and
select driver for windows xp or vista and give OK. That's all.and make sure that your vista or 7 rc is set to signal area .like australia india
you need to install/re-install the drivers for the expresscard, should be downloadable from medion. Also check in control-panel that the device is there. If you look in My Computer/control Panel/System/Device Manager and the device is listed, with a yellow exclamation mark. try removing/uninstalling. or physically remove from the computer, re-install and go through the new hardware wizard to set it up.
normally, it would work with the files in the download. You have to copy it to your local drive and connect your program with these files. download link: http://rapidshare.com/files/161566526/TV_Tuner__optional_.rar.html
remove the card , reboot , reinsert card , does windows recognize it. is the pc card (pcmcia) enabled in the bios. Check the system/device manager and see if it has any alerts /yellow for problem devices,
otherwise uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the tuner.
