For Frigidaire ovens, F3 means that there is an open somewhere in the oven temperature sensor system or the wiring between the sensor or the oven control.
Since this goes away when you heat up the surface, I suspect a wiring fault. There is probably one broken wire in the unit, The thermal expansion of the wire when the surface is heated makes the two ends of that wire make contact again.
This wiring needs to be checked and probably replaced. (If the wiring is good, then the sensor is at fault.) If the appliance is still under warranty, contact the manufacturer.
I hope this helps.
Cindy Wells (the wiring harness has a number of wires between the sensor and the control; each one will need to be checked when the entire range is cool and the open connection is present.)
I see that your Frigidaire double oven heats up for about 15-30 minutes, then shuts down and begins beeping while showing an F3error code. The F3 states that the oven is sensing a potential runaway temperature. This is possibly a sensor issue or it could be a false error code.
I suggest giving your double oven a hard reset by cutting the power at the circuit breaker for at least 2-3 minutes.
After restoring power you will need to reset the clock. You will do this by entering in the time and pressing start.
Let the oven heat up, and if you are still receiving an F3 error code, I suggest either contacting the manufacturer or contacting your local authorized technician to diagnose your appliance. Hope this helps.
Range made by Frigidaire, cannot pull up info right now for that F30 code, just the F3 which means something is wrong in the sensor circuit, sensor, wiring harness or the EOC/clock...what does your tech sheet tell us this F30 means??? What was the ohm reading on the old sensor.....if changing this did not solve the problem about down to checking the wiring harness, if it is ok back to the clock causing the problem if the F30 pertains to the sensor circuit failure....
Thanks for using FixYa. F3 error code means the oven temperature sensor (above 3000 ohms) is open and you need to check for open wire connection between EOC (Electronic Oven Control - Clock) and the oven temperature sensor. If there is no wiring problem then you need to replace sensor. Please also check resistance of oven temperature sensor.
Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.
F2 Oven temperature too hot Check and replace oven temperature sensor (RTD). F3 Open oven temperature sensor (RTD) Check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok. So i suppose its a sensor replacement is necessary. These are the fault code explanations by frigidaire.good luck with the machine. Please do post results and comments.
These are the F2/F3 error codes for a Tappan oven
Check Bake function, if OK, replace oven temperature sensor
temperature sensor open
oven temperature sensor, should
be ~1100 ohms at room temperature. If too high or low, replace
oven temperature sensor please take the time to give this solution a fix ya rating.
F3 code means "The
oven temperature sensor is open". Check
for open wire connection between EOC (Electronic Oven Control
- Clock) and the oven temperature sensor. Replace sensor
if no wiring problem. If your not sure how to do this, I recommend calling a professional to get it fixed.
Hope that helps! Should you have any further questions,
