Motor Filter Has Been Sucked In - Eureka 4467AV Upright Vacuum

Hello,

Any ideas how to open the subject Vacuum Cleaner in order to get to and remove the Motor Filter which has been sucked through the opening that it is suppose to sit on? The unit makes noise and does not work when turned on. I am not sure how to open the unit. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

    How do I remove the Motor Cover?

  • Farzad_99 Jun 04, 2008

    Thanks a bunch. I have done that and I now have access to the Motor. How do I pull it out? It seems to be held by something that is not visible (may be on the Left Side where the fan mates with the duct)? Any additional ideas as to how to get it out so I can access the fan will be appreciated. Also, once the Motor is out, how do I remove the fan cover portion of it?

    Thanks

    I would like to thank Mr. Reddev for his instructions needed to; 1) Fix the problem, and 2) Do a Mod so that this problem can never occur in the future.

    Thanks a bunch.

You will have to remove the cover over the motor so you can get to it and the fan. When you get the filter out, drill holes first, then drive a couple of nails down thru where the filter sits so it can't get sucked into the fan again.

    Take off the top cover, undo the belt, remove the bag door, take out the four Torx screws on the motor cover and the clamp by the motor shaft. The cover should pull off and you can get to the motor.

I'm looking for CV1801 Vacuum Motor, Greator Toronto... Thanks

Hello There,

I've looked up your model vacuum cleaner, and it seems that I am able to still get this motor for your Eureka central vacuum cleaner. We're located in the United States, but we can certainly ship this to you.

Here's a picture of the diagram for you;

vacuumrepair_1.jpg
We sell the genuine Eureka motor for $199.00, however you may save substantially on this motor by purchasing it under the Lamb Electric name. The motors are identical, and Lamb actually makes this motor for Electrolux, and sells the replacement parts for MUCH less money they Electrolux. We sell the motor under the Lamb name for $119. I went ahead and added this part to our site so you could place your order if you wanted to. I don't have it in stock today, but my parts distributor is showing 3 in stock, so we can easily have your order shipped out within 2-4 business days.

Here's the link to the Eureka CV1801 Central Vacuum Cleaner motor, Part number 54586;
http://www.govacuum.com/10661-Eureka-Central-Vacuum-Cleaner-Suction-Motor-Assembly-Part-54586-.aspx

Hopefully this was helpful to you. I've also left you a link below to the parts diagram of your vacuum cleaner, in case you need some visual help to see how it comes apart. If you found this repair to be helpful, please be so kind and rate the repair helpful, or leave feedback for me. I really do appreciate it, and this also helps people with the same question find the answers easier. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at chris (dot) jones (at) govacuum (dot) com.

When I vacuum the dirt and trash come flying out the back of the vacuum, what can I do to fix this?

The filter behind the unit is out of alignment or damaged.
so remove and clean the collected dirt, replace the filter, look for damage here to make the sucked dirt fly over.

Eureka the boss upright bagless vacuum. How do I open it to get to the belt area? The brush seems stuck. It won’t move.
Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Knowing the brand name and model number for the vacuum but I can give you a generic way of changing the belt. You 1st need to remove the bottom plate by screws, levers or clips, then you can get @ the belt, if not then you should remove the top cover and then you can get @ the belt. 1st remove the belt from the brushroll and install the new belt on the pulley side of the brushroll and then use a belt puller or a screwdriver with a bend on the end and then stretch the belt onto the motor pulley and then track the belt in a straight line so that is running in a straight line. Replace the bottom plate and the belt change should be done. Please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area.

So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

On the top cover there are slots on both sides near the front, there is a screw on each side, take the 2 screws out and the top cover comes off, then you can get to the belt and brush roll. The belt goes over the brush roll, then over the motor shaft.

Power surge issue

This is a fault in the motor, could be a shorted turn in the motor windings. This has nothing to do with fuses.
