I have a HP Photosmart Premium, print, fax, scan copy machine I have just recently purchased
    My Computer is I Mac
I want to scan a document & then E Mail it to another recipient.
I put the document on the scanner glass

I select start scan on the scanner window

    I select Scan to computer

    I select OK

    I select Tiff to preview

    I select OK

My document comes up on my computer screen nice & clear

When I try to put it in my E Mail as an attachment the text is so tiny it is unreadable!

I have tried dragging & dropping into E mail document & have the same problem!

    The Scan Menu also has
    scan & reprint photo
    Scan to memory card
    scan to USB flash Drive

    Scan To has
    Tiff to preview
    Jpeg to Photosmart Share
    Jpeg to HP Photosmart studio
    Jpeg to Photosmart print
PDF to Adobe readerJpeg to I Photo
E Mail to Apple Mail...I tried this one to no avail!
E Mail to enteourage (Don't know what this means & did not try it
OCR to Text edit..Don't know what this means & did not try it
OCR to Text word ..Same as above
    PDF to Preview

WHY WOULD IT BE SO DIFFICULT TO SCAN THEN E MAIL THE SCANNED DOCUMENT!

    HELP!!

Where will I find the model number?

My unit is HP Photosmart Premium Series C309

Did you receive my last comment about all the selections I made when I scanned on the Photosmart Unit?

  • bscoular Oct 14, 2010

  • bscoular Oct 14, 2010

IT IS TOO CONFUSING SO I WILL NOT BOTHER
    THANKS FOR TRYING TO HELP
ALL I WANT TO DO IS ATTACH A SCANNED DOCUMENT TO AN OUT GOING E MAIL SO IT IS READABLE TO THE RECIPIENT

  • bscoular Oct 14, 2010

    Sorry for being so dense
When I tried again to attach my document to the outgoing E Mail it once again was tiny

  • bscoular Oct 14, 2010

The problem was with the E Mail not the scanner
I discovered that the text size was set for small in E Mail
Don't know how or why this happened as it was always OK before, anyway once I discovered this feature of setting the text for small, med, or large I was back on track

  • bscoular Oct 16, 2010

I discovered that when I transferrd my scanned image to my E Mail document, it the lhad a section that allowed the text to be made large med & small. I used this to make the text larger & it was fine but now I can't find that feature!

This usually is not a scanner's problem; the e-mail client software you use is trying to reduce image size (in order to reduce file size). Clarify me what e-mail software you use in order to locate for you the setting (outlook express, microsoft outlook, yahoo, gmail etc)

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.

The selection for large - medium - small image pop up when an image is attached at the e-mail. I asked you to clarify me the e-mail client (outlook express, microsoft outlook, yahoo, g-mail, hotmail e.t.c.) in order to give you further details.

When you add an image at any e-mail ready to sent, you will be prompt about the size. Didn't this happens now? Try to sent an e-mail at yourself or at my e-mail steliosl@yahoo.com.

I'd try Scan to usb flash or memory card, see if you can get the computer to just SAVE the file on your desktop or anywhere else so that you can just ATTACH it to your outgoing email.

Once it's saved to the Desktop just attach it to your email manually. If you want to "fix' the problem then I would suggest downloading and installing the latest software drivers and software from HP's support site.

There are a couple of different C309 printers. Some have a G, N, or A

Here's a link to all three.

Hi,

While scanning window will pop up and there will be an option to select what type of document you're scanning - choose "custom setting" and go to "adjust ..." where you could choose the resolution otherwise selecting "black and white picture or text" would result in a fairly small kb size; then at the bottom of the page you'll find the "Paper Size" selection where you can choose "Letter Size 8.5" x 11."

Please check the bellow links related to your issue:-

Also download the manual to read the instructions ,if it helps:-

I have a lexmark 464de mfp. How do i setup scan to e-mail on windows 7 on this network printer?

Multi-function printers cannot scan and then e-mail the scanned image. They can scan and then fax a document.
You need to scan the document, then save the scanned image, open your e-mail program and create the e-mail then attach the image file (file attachment) to the e-mail before you send the e-mail.

When i scan a document to my mail it comes through to my e-mail address but with the wrong -mail address

Hello,

If the mail address is wrong on the document you are scanning, you have two options. Correct the mailing address on the document then rescan it or use a program like photo shop to change the address on the image.

I hope this helps.

Hp scanjet 8250. I want to set my scanner to default to PDF when I am trying to email. That is the way we do most of our scanning and right now it defaults to RTF.

Have you considered simply scanning from within Adobe Acrobat or similar software that produces .pdf and then use the email feature within Acrobat?

As I look over the HP User Manual, I can't see any method to set the default output. It simply says...

Use the E-MAIL button() to scan documents or pictures and insert them in an e-mail message as an attachment. You must have an Internet connection and a supported e-mail application.
1. Place the original face down on the scanner glass or face up in the ADF. If you are scanning two-sided originals from an ADF, slide the DUPLEX switch to two-sided mode.
2.Press the E-MAIL button().A message appears asking if the original is a document or a picture.
3.Select Document or Picture, and click OK.Note:A preview image will not appear when scanning from the ADF. To change this preview setting, see the HP Photo & Imaging software Help.
4. Select the final scan area (the area inside the dotted lines) in the preview image.
5. Make adjustments to the preview image if needed.
6. Click Accept. The final scan area is scanned and your e-mail application is opened. The scanned image is added as an attachment to the e-mail message.
7. The Save As dialog box appears. Type a file name and choose a file type, and click OK.
8. Complete the e-mail as usual.

Dell 922 AIO does everything except print from PC

Two things to try:

1. If it prints the alignment page, sometimes you have to put the page back on the scanner glass and hit continue or start on the printer for it to scan back in the alignment page to complete the alignment process

2. If thtat's not it, try going to add/remove programs in control panel and uninstall all dell pritner software, then reinstall using the link below:

I don't know how to scan a document to a file on my NX400 Print, Copy, Scan & Photo. I would appreciate a copy of the manual. Can you e-mail the copy to me?

I clicked on "Home Mode" then followed the instructions. Nice if your doing many photos. But not very simple when you want to scan to a document file. The other scanner that I had (not compatible with Windows Vista) was very simple to use -- did not have to go to many windows a click on various items to get a simple scan. Maybe I should have purchase another brand of scanners.

I am trying to use my scanner for the 1st time and I scanned 24 pages which took quite a long time and at the end my computer advised that these pages are now sitting in c:\documents &...

I guess that was the way the unit is setup and programmed. I expected to have the scanner setup to automatically send the documents directly into my e-mail, as this unit is in my home office and that would be the only place I would ever want them to go. Then I could forward them on very easily. I had to attach every page of the 24 pages separately into 3 e-mails. So I did accomplish the task. It would be nice to adjust it for future scans.

Thanks anyway:o)

Does this help? You obviously have to insert the media type into the media slot on the far right.(omoademola) Using the top control panel Printing tasks Scanning/Copying/Faxing tasks Troubleshooting
The top control panel lets you print an image from a photo card, scan a document or image, and copy a document or image with the press of a button.
