Hello. I would like somebody to help me.
I think it might be a virus problem but I am not sure.
When I plug something into my usb the screen turns blue. When I turned on the computer with the something plugged in the usb it goes though but it says unkown device, it does not recognize the usb!
it's driving me crazy.
I also notice something unusual in my computer. When I turn it on I see a scree with something like that : partizan root killer kit... can somebody please help me?
Hello there. Thanks a lot for you help. Well, I have a notebook. The usb that I am trying to use are the ones on the right side of the computer, but I have tried all of them. In fact there is something unusual happening. If I plug the camera, the mouse on the usb it will recognize it but if I plug my flash drive or my ipod then I will have that blue/kind of gray/black screen. That screen only appears after I plug my flash drive or ipod into the usb port and after that I can't do anything. I have to shut down the computer and it's just driving me crazy!!!
I also tried doing this : "Before turning on the computer I plugged the flahs drive. The computer will start normaly but then when I go to sytem, device manager I will have something called "unkown device". I tried to uninstall, install again and it did not work. I do not know what else I could do. Any suggestions?

Re: problems with usb device
Can you please provide me some information from that Blue screen
(That Blue screen is known as BSOD - Blue Screen Of Death - As on that screen you dont have any OK / Cancel Button and you dont have any other option other that Restarting your system manually when BSOD appears thats why it is known as Blue Screen of Death -
Anyways the important information from that error screen is located in the Second Paragraph + Last paragraph where some Hex codes are written
I want that information
Because most probably this is NOT a virus problem but it is a Hardware problem with your USB port)

I would use Norton Antivirus loaded onto a clean machine and scan your usb to remove it then scan your infected hdd with the same clean computer.
I charge GBP35 to clean like that, GBP30 for the hdd and GBP5 for the usb key.
You computer problem is due to malware. to fix the problem temporarily. Right click on my computer then click on manage. choose Disk Management, on the bottom, you will see removable devices that doesnt have a drive letter. Right click its name then pick "Change Drive Letters and Paths". Change it back to the letter it was before this happen.
Check for malware, adware with spybot search and destroy and virus with your antivvirus afterward to make sure this doesn't happen again
I would try visiting the Cannon offical website,
Make sure you have your correct model number for the usb device and try searching for a correct updated driver for your device and your operating system.
Sometimes there are viruses that can effect widnows in ways that can cause your pc not to recognise devices etc. in this case try AVG anti virus its free.
Try uninstalling everything printer related completly unplug the device, turn off the computer and unplug it, then start again. Make sure you dont plug the printer in untill you have re installed the device,
try changing USB ports where its plugged in and try a different cable.
Windows XP is a pain for USB devices and usually with older hardware will pop up the Device not recognised.
Also in case you incidentally modified something go into start , help and support, fixing a problem, then, using system restore to undo changes and look for a little icon and text saying run the system restore wizard.
Follow the steps and restore your computer to an earlier time say a few days ago when it worked. It still helps to back up all your info just in case...
I know your really not going to like the last option here, but back up everything settings ie internet, files and pictures and turn off your pc and insert the windows xp cd and try reinstalling fresh.
also make sure you have your xp key the number you have to input or youl have to ring microsoft.
Hello, There could be a couple of options here: 1. The keypad is defective in which case you need to replace it. 2. The keys are sticking which will cause this problem and is quit frequently what happens (unless all your keys are doing this in which case it will not be the problem as not all keys stick at the same time unless something has been spilled on the keyboard) 3. You might need to update the drivers for the keypad which you can download from the manufacturer's website. I do not think you have a virus because you would notice other things happening to your operating system or hardware. Since you plugged the usb keyboard in and it worked just fine, I think your keypad needs replaced, which you can order from the manufacturer as well and they are not that expensive. You can try downloading the drivers first and see it that corrects the problem or try removing your laptop face plate and cleaning your keypad, just be careful with the plastic tabs that hold the face plate on and not break them. I am pretty sure your keypad is bad. Please let me know if this helps or you need further assistance.
If you would not mind rating my help, I would really appreciate it. Thanks
Try to restart your pc or try to unplug your usb so that it can detect to your computer. If this is not working properly try to check your anti virus, sometimes this is the problem can't detect the mp3 player because of the virus.
I accidentally ran into this problem today when I inadvertantly plugged the wrong charger into the unit. I'm guessing that the device isn't getting the precise current it's expecting and thus thinks it's plugged into a computer. I'd suggest getting hold of a different charger and see if the problem goes away.
