I can't get the DVD player to view dvd on tv

hi konni.
this is all i could find .
DVD player not working with TV By Charlotte Parker 25 Aug 2017
You've got your Sky Box, your TV, your DVD Player and your surround sound; you've also got your digi-box, your DVD recorder, Blu-Ray Player. With all that equipment, if something goes wrong it can be tricky to track down the issue. This article explains why your TV isn't playing DVDs and how to get it sorted out.
Figuring out the problem
Figuring out why your DVD Player isn't working with your TV is a process of elimination, so work through the steps below to figure out the cause of the problem.
The problem could be:
  • The connector cables/connections.
  • The DVD disc itself.
  • The DVD Player's optical reader (the lens which 'reads' the DVDs).
  • The TV.

The connector cables/connections

Before doing anything, check all your connector cables. Make sure that all connections are in properly, and that the cables are in the right place.
One of the most important connections is the cable that runs between your TV and the DVD Player. If it isn't in place, then your TV can't read the information from the DVD Player and the film won't appear on your TV.

The DVD disc itself

Check for scratches, chips, smudges and any other marks. Test the disc isn't the problem by trying a different one in the player. If the new disc works, then the first one might need replacing.

The TVTry changing channels. Lots of TV's have a default channel specifically for DVD players. Have a look between the channels to see if the DVD menu appears.
On modern televisions, especially those connected to Digi-boxes or Sky Boxes, there's usually a 'Source' button on the remote control. Find it and go through until you reach the right setting for playing DVDs. To go back to watching normal TV channels after the DVD has finished, go back to the source button and change back to the original source.

That should be all you need to know to get your DVD player working with your TV
if none of above works then try putting a lens cleaner through it to try and clean the lens that reads the disc.

It won't play a dvd! and when it does it just sits like it is stopped!!

Hello

Eject the DVD from the Cyberhome DVD player. Look over the bottom of the disc. If any dirt and fingerprints are present, remove them with a damp cloth, moving from the inner circle of the DVD to the outside.

Insert the DVD into a scratch repair device, if the DVD has any light scratches (deep scratches are not reparable). Turn on the DVD repair kit and the device literally sands down the scratch. When this is finished, the DVD should work correctly with the Cyberhome DVD player.

Avoid inserting homemade DVDs into the disc drive. The Cyberhome is not compatible with many self-created DVDs, causing a "Disc Read Error" message to appear on the screen.

Spray compressed air into the disc drive of the DVD player. The compressed air removes dust and other debris from the laser and reading lens in the player.

Recently, my player will intermittantly show a blank blue screen on certain DVD's, not all of them. There were no scratches I could see on the discs. I bought a new DVD player and it did the same thing...

You are getting drop out of data from the DVDs, depending on the quality of the orinal DVD discs, some times they will deteriorate after few years. Look for any scratches on the lable side of the DVD. On some discs lable side where the reflective coating may not be protected well, if it is damaged it cannot be read.

DVDs & CDs will not play

If you are playing STANDARD CD or regular DVD that you have purchase and you are having this problem, your dvd player is malfunction;however,if you are playing DVD burner disc or a different dvd region disc(we are region 1 in U.S.) that is no going to work.Same thing for your CD burner disc,it might not work.
If you are using a rental dvd disc, check and see if there is scratches? If so,try to get one without that many scratches!
