Question about Sharp Cell Phones

1 Answer

Nail polish remover has glued the 4 buttons on the right of the Sharp pv210 cell phone such that they do not depress. I've used a razor blade to try to break the bond from the outside to no avail. How do you remove the cover to get to the back of the buttons. I've removed the visible screws but don't want to force anything.

Thanks for the reply but I really wanted to know how to take the cover off the cell phone so I can get to the back of the buttons to try freeing them from the glued bond. I guess I'm really looking for the manual for this phone which might show how to do this.

I'm afraid there is not much you can do. Trying to remove the nail polish with nail polish remover would be difficult and this could melt the plastic.
The face plate and buttons will need to be replaced.
It may be cheaper to upgrade your cell phone than repair it.

After removing the back cover and the battery, most cell phones front face plate are clipped in placed. The face plate can be carefully levered off starting at the sides of the cell phone.
    -----------------
If the face plate is secured by screws then, after removing the battery then remove the screws that secure the circuit board. When you remove the circuit board the keyboard can be accessed .

This is my problem:.. When the laborer put up our pharmacy... they put surgical tape on the glass doors.. and its been a long time to remove it.. I already used thinner but it don't help at all. I am...

HERE'S WHAT YOU'VE GOT TO DO:

There are just 4 simple steps that I can suggest for you to do:

1. Use any of the following solvents:
a. rubbing alcohol
b. acetone
c. nail polish remover
d. vegetable oil
e. olive oil
f. or, a Goo Gone

2. Soak a small piece of cloth to any of those solvents mentioned above.
3. Rub the cloth onto the surgical tape.
3. Use a razor blade to get rid of the tape totally. To make you safe, seek a scraper or holder of the razor blade so you won't get hurt.
4. Apply as much as solvent until the tape is totally removed.

I hope it fixes your problem. Thanks...

Nokia N90 (year 2005)menu key sometimes does not function

DEAR FRIEND,
  1. 1ST OF ALL UNSCREW THE PHONE TO MENU BUTTON
  2. USE A SHARP OBJECT LIKE A RAZOR BLADE TO SCRATCH THE SURFACE
  3. TEST THE PHONE TO SEE IF IT WILL WORK
  4. IF AFTER TRYING THAT AND THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS
  5. THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO CHANGE THE KEYPAD FLEX.

Mine is doing this as well. I've also tried all the tricks-nail polish, rubbing alcohol, freezer...none of them have worked. I called verizon and of course they didn't help and said I'd need to get a new phone.

Use some "GOO GONE" ... probably the "safest" stuff to use to remove the glue.

Use Q-TIPS to apply and clean-up with a cloth, not paper towel.

Don't use nail polish remover or any acetone products, these will melt the button.

Don't use paint thinner either, for the same reason.

Melted plastic (teapot whistle) on glass cooktop

Hello. I don't know if this will work but you could try getting it as cold as you can and maybe it will come off that way. If it were me I would use my refrigerant, but I am sure you don't have that. Who knows maybe ice will work. Now that I think about it, maybe you can carefully use some sand paper being sure you don't scratch the surface.

Change Faulty/Cracked touchscreen on P900

The screen consist of two parts: touchscreen(TS) itself and LCD screen. They're attached mechanically, not with glue or solder.
TS glued to metal frame and by mean of this frame(mechanically) attached to LCD(like shoebox cover) - you can see pits on side.
1. With sharp blade of razor or scalpel gently remove this frame with TS glued on top.
2. Then remove TS from the frame (I simply broke it and removed glass pieces from the frame)
3. Clean the frame with alcohol to remove glue and grains of glass.
4. Glue new TS to the frame at ONE SITTING!
5. Wipe out dust from LCD and inner surface of TS and attach the frame.
6. Buy conducting glue and connect 4-contacts of TS cable with LCD cable. Put adhesive tape over them to maintain electric connection.
That's all.
