This is normally caused by a wire touching in the rear of the panel take off the back cover for the control panel and look at the wiring

BURNER WILL NOT TURN OFF POWER LIGHT TO BURNER STAYS ON

Probably a defective burner switch/control. Power light and burner on condition are normal. What isn't normal is that the burner can't be turned off

Oven problem, it tries to ignite, but won't

It sounds like the igniter isn't lighting the flame, or the flame isn't sensing once lit. Check the burner to see if anything has fallen onto the burner or electrodes to prevent it from working. Also check the holes on the burner to see if they are blocked. If it is all clear it may be a control box issue.

A single glass electrode isn't sparking on our GE gas cook top. The other four burners all spark fine. There is a spark underneath the cover on this single burner - just not on the electrode on...

Is this one that you use all the time? Maybe it's dirty and you could try to clean it somehow. If that doesn't work, you could find another sparking anode at a dealer and replace it. A toothbrush or other stiff bristle brush of similar type should do it. In the meantime, you can use a lighter with the gas on low to light the unit.
Hope this is of help

Burners work fine, pilot light in oven is on, but oven won't ignite

Make sure the thermocoupler is being heated by the pilot light flame. It could also be gunked up but you can clean it with a scouring pad, or it might need to be replaced. The thermocoupler is the most likely cause because if it isn't heated then the gas valve will not open up and no gas will flow to the burner. Since your pilot light is on then you do have gas to the valve.

When you removed the burner and replaced it did you bump the thermocoupler? If that isn't in the pilot light flame or ignitor heat, it will not allow your gas valve to open and send gas to your burners.

If it isn't misaligned then it could be bad or just corroded/caked and need cleaned.

Igniter of back burner dies not click or light

I had the same issue with washing the top with water and cleaning solution. I had arching, eventually one burner failed to ignite. I tried the above solution and it did not work. Remove the ceramic top on the burner that will not ignite. Turn on another working element. Do you see the igniter working?

If so slowly turn on the gas on the failed burner and it will ignite. I'm looking into what component automatically controls the igniting and gas release when the knob is turned on.

Only one burner of four not working

sounds like a bad switch in the knob, turn on the defective side, turn on the one that works and keep the clicking going then turn on the defective burner while "other" is clicking if this lights then it means you have a bad switch or loose connections
