    As per the original question the CD player is

    Brand = Cambridge

    Model = D500SE

    Thanks

    I haven't bought one yet. No point unless I can get the necessary remote codes.

  • Anonymous Oct 13, 2010

    My understanding is that the actual CD player responds to certain remote codes and these codes are determined by the receiver in the player and not dictated by the remote controller. Therefore the codes should be the same irrespective of which controller you use.

    If I know the actual CD player remote codes, I can sort out the prefix numbers for the actual universal remote after I purchase it.

    From this circular pattern of questions, I can only assume that you do not have access to the remote codes for the Cambridge D500SE CD player. If so I will have to try another expert.

    I have already tried contacting the manufacturer etc without success. This is the reason I posted this query hoping that somebody might have access to these codes. I don't want to buy a universal remote until I have the necessary codes.

With a universal remote control, you can do an auto search. this will try all 4 digit combination and in a short time, you will have the right code programmed. please see instructions on how to do that here. otherwise, depending on your location, this Cambridge remote would be a good replacement.

Not all codes are the same for universal all remotes, use the list of codes provided with the remote, if your device is not listed perform a code search, refer to the manufacturer's instructions for doing a code search for unlisted codes, it varies with each model and make or remote control, all universal remotes have code search capability.

    May I get the make and model # of the universal remote

  • Anonymous Oct 13, 2010

    When you buy the universal remote it will come with the codes for your product. Just make sure the the remote will support you product. On the back of the package will tell you what brands the remote will support.

    Every universal remote has different codes. So it is impossible to help you unless you have a remote there to program.

    Good luck

  • Anonymous Oct 13, 2010

    That is true but some manufactures will put a 1 or 4 in-front of the code so the remote will know that it is for a TV, DVD player, Or CD player.

  • Anonymous Oct 13, 2010

    No I do not and no one on this site will have the code for your player. Sorry

Will a remote for a CD 740 radio work on a CD 745 radio

The buttons on the two remotes are configured differently leading me to question if the lesser remote would work on the expanded feature cd745. In trying to compare part numbers for the remotes, it should be noted Cambridge is highly proprietary. They don't release literature, making it impossible to check for crossover without having a Cd740 in your hand. There is no way to reference your question. You have two options, contact Cambridge for a replacement, or investigate the universal Logictech Harmony remotes to see if they can be programmed for your unit.
