Why doesnt my gogear sync with my media player


your gogear has corrupt config files! you must power it off, and connect it to your pc while holding the menu button, and continue to hold it until the computer reconizes it as a usb mass storage device. when an auto play option opens, it will allow you to select "Open with folder to view files", select this option and navigate to the "CONFIG" folder. you must then delete all files inside of the config folder, then once your disconnect and reconnect your player, it should work perfectly,

I cant get my computer to reconize my 4gb phillips gogear


Triple Reset for Philips’ GoGear:

Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.

Use a small papaerclip, pin, or other device and insert it into the reset hole until the GoGear shuts off. You may have to download the more recent version of the software for the device at www.usasupport.philips.com even after doing the reset.

Make sure you back up all songs on the GoGear before attempting this solution.

1) Back up all files on the GoGear
2) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips)
3) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button
4) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new

Now you can do the firmware upgrade that will prevent this problem from occuring in the future. Open up Philips Device Manager and click the Update tab. This problem was caused because most GoGear's were designed for Windows XP with Media Player 10 (which is no longer the latest standard).
