Uniden DCT758 Thanks - hopefully you can help.

  • heather_s827 Oct 14, 2010

Uniden DCT758. Screen on 2nd handset shows 'ringer off' and no sound when a call comes in, but handset 1 is fine. How do I turn the ringer on on 2nd handset? The Do not disturb option works on man phone 1 only.

Thanks but I have the manual and it is no help in this case. Any other suggestions?

  • heather_s827 Oct 18, 2010

Thanks for info, but I tried all of that and still it shows 'ringer off' - am beginning to wonder if that is the way it is supposed to be! Any other suggestion would be appreciated.

Thanks for trying to help, but I have now managed to get a reply from supplier and it appears phone is faulty so it has been returned for replacement or repair. Any further problems I will contact you again, but in the meantime will wait and see what happens when it is returned. Thanks again.

Please try powering it off and then on after a few minutes. It helps sometimes. And if it does not work then set it up from the begining as if you are doing it for the first time on a new phone. And also reset the frequency to match that of the base unit. You may have to do it on both handsets.

  • Rinoo Kumari Oct 18, 2010

    Heather,

Have you reset the phone? Please reset the frequency on the base and match it on the two handsets. It seems that phone 1 Is matched and 2 is not. If they are on the same frequency then they both will function in the same manner. The user guide had the method to realign the frequency on all three, base and two handsets.

    Do Not Disturb (All Calls)

Do not disturb (DND) allows you to mute the ringer of all stations at once. With the phone in standby, press and hold

[dnd] on the base. You will hear a confirmation tone and the dnd LED illuminates. To cancel, press [dnd] again. You

can also mute the ringer tone while the phone is ringing by pressing [dnd] on the base.

Note: If the answering system is off, it will automatically turn on when you activate dnd. If

you turn the answering system off while dnd is on, dnd automatically turns off along

    with the answering system.

Or you can look at the manual on the link below page 38.

Adjusting the Ringer, Earpiece and Speaker Volume

Adjusting the Ringer Volume

You can choose from four ringer volume settings (off, low, medium, and high)

separately on each handset or the base.

With the phone in standby, press or on the handset or VOLUME or

VOLUME on the base. The handset or base sounds the ringer at that level.

Use on the handset or VOLUME on the base to make the ringer volume

louder. Use on the handset or VOLUME on the base to make it softer or

turn it completely off.

When you hear the ringer volume level you want to use, stop pressing keys.

The handset or base will use the new ringer volume starting with the next incoming call.

Note: If you set the ringer volume to Off, the handset or base won't ring. Other handsets or base will ring according
to their individual settings.

A180 just showing base and no response

Is the ringer turned off? Or is the volume on the ring tone set too low? Another possibility is that the phone isn't set to receive incoming calls - the Siemens phones I've owned allowed one to specify which handsets could handle incoming calls and outgoing calls on each line.

Please advise as to how to increase the VOLUME on my DECT 6.0 phone.

To adjust the ringer volume:
  1. With the phone in standby, press ^ or v. The display shows the current volume level and the handset sounds the ringer at that level.
  2. Use ^ to make the ringer volume louder or use v to make it softer or turn it off completely.
  3. When you hear the ringer volume level you want to use, stop pressing keys. The handset will use the new ringer volume starting with the next incoming call.
Note: If you set the ringer volume to Off, the handset won't ring. If you have any accessory handsets, other handsets will ring according to their individual settings.

To adjust the earpiece volume:

You can choose from six volume levels for the handset earpiece. To adjust the earpiece volume while on a call, press ^ to make it louder or v to make it softer. The handset display shows the current volume level for the earpiece.

To adjust the speaker volume:

You can choose from six volume levels for the handset speaker while on a speakerphone call. To adjust the handset speaker volume, press ^ to make it louder or v to make it softer. The handset display shows the current volume level for the handset speaker.

Note: The handset earpiece and the handset speaker have separate volume settings.
