Probably needs more RAM. How much is in it? The locking up could represent a bad memory sector in your current RAM (the computer locking up every time it hits that sector(s)) among other things. You can grab a linux live CD and do the memory test to be sure...it takes a long time tho.

You can speed up the startups by going to Start > Run > MSconfig and tweaking the tab that has the programs that start when windows starts and tweaking the services that start up...just be sure of what you are turning off

Not enough water VOLUME and pressure to supply the pump with a steady flow of water. Water is cavatating (adding air to the water) and the piston is heating up and jambing. Try using a larger size hose diameter and a shorter hose to supply the pump.

if light on dash is on, then it sounds like a bad crank sensor. shuts off while driving down road, then will not start for about 15 minutes. heres more causes:: car shuts off when tempurature gets to normal-- low coolant, failing coolant tempurature sensor, air in water pump, failed radiator fan, it takes 10 to 15 minutes for a car to warm up. check or replace coolant temp. sensor if above is ok. have a good day !

I have a 1997 grand prix with a 3.8L engine in it my problem is i can be driving down the highway just find and then my lights start to go dim and then the car shuts off and won't start for 15 minutes....

The problem might be your Vats security system. This causes the car to either "not start" or "shut down" while running, or start for 5 seconds and then die. (depending on the system) If the security light flashes, i guarantee that this is what the problem is. 1st trick, (if not starting) turn the key forward 2 clicks till right before it would normally start, leave like that for 10 minutes. ( no less ) After 10 minutes, turn key back then forward and your car might start. I did this in my regal for more than a year. If its shuting down while running, im sorry i have no quick fix...

Cheap fix: Bypass the chip in your key. Temporary, but effective. Until the TDM (theft deterrent module) in the dash poops out, then you're kinda screwed. I was told that these types of key security systems have a 7-10 year life span. Sucks for us. This link explains the "Key Issue" pretty well.

Never worry again fix: Bypass the whole VATS/Passlock/passkey I or passkey II system entirely. Literally take it out, and throw it away. I just did this in my Regal. Took about an hour. Took longer to find the thing than it did to fix the problem. For a list of cars effected by this problem. See the NEWROCKIES link on the right side of their page......... They sell a unit for 200 bucks to totally bypass this system FOREVER. life time-money back and all that. Finally did this in my car. Well worth the 200 if you've looked into getting this replaced... Anywhere from 600-1000 bucks.

----- With this fix, you can take that whole Vats, passlock, passkey **** system out of your car all together. Good info on both sites

I have lux4000 vacuum cleaner. It started to shut down in brush mode vacuum in after 10 to 15 minutes. Motor seems hot when I touch the bottom part. It will start up after 10 to 15 minutes but shuts down...

It sounds like something is catching in the brush. Remove all foreign matter from around brush. Ensure belt is properly engaged. Ensure brush is installed correctly.
If these don't correct the problem, consider taking it to an authorized service center.

Coffee Makee shuts down and won't turn back on

It's little computer may be scrambled, or its channels may be clogged with scale. You might try (1) unplugging the unit for several minutes to reset the computer; (2) descaling the unit with a vinegar solution.

Computer keeps shutting down for no reason. anytime you start up it has to go through several different screens. which takes about 10-15 minutes. computer is an Acer Aspire 5100.

You need to let us know what screens keep coming up. The only screens SHOULD be the initial POST screen (which is usually black with info about your system), then the windows start up screen. Then your desktop should show. If there are numerous screens popping up after this - are they browser screens (ie. Internet Explorer or Firefox)? If so, you're probably infested with spyware.
BTW - some systems hide the POST screen with their own logo, like Compaq.
Send more info, and it will help in fixing this.
