Question about Brother DCP-8060 Laser Printer
It means that your drum unit will need to be replaced soon. The drum unit is the assembly that you inserted your new toner cartridge into. They last about 3 to 4 times as lond as a toner cartridge on average.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

Actually, you don't have to buy a new drum, you just need to clean up your old drum which the one you are using now. and reset the drum unit, then you will be good for a long while.

After replacing the drum and toner you may need to reset the drum life of the machine. This is how to reset the drum life:
Open the front cover where the drum and toner are located. Press the clear/back key. Lcd should show Replace Drum? Then press 1 for yes. Lcd should show accepted. Close the front cover the press stop/exit. Lcd now should show the date and time.
Hope this helps. Rate if it works. Thanks

Testimonial: "Thank you vikroks and looks like you fixed my drum cartridge error messge."
It means the drum has nearly reached the end of it's useful life, just a warning before it says it is all used up. If quality is still good you can open the front door and press the menu or options key and tell it it's a new drum and keep printing until the print quality fades.

SOURCE: Toner end life message
i solved the brother mfc8860 toner life end problem
hi guys my name is reedwaan. Im new at this site so please listen up
my brother toner i refilled with toner and inserted it. It said toner life end then i patched the windows close on the sides and still the same problem, then i removed the toner and loosened the two screws on the left by the gears then removed the cover of the gears.
Right at the back there is a funny looking gear with a spring behind it. All you have to do is pull the spring a little bit clockwise and push the gear back on hooking the spring into it so that the gear is spring loaded. close it up then test it, It took me a while to figure it out but i got it right.
NB* The gear that you push on, is the toner reset gear and when you push it on make sure the teeth dont interlock with the second gear on the left of it. If you have any queries mail me on firstname.lastname@example.org
glad to help out
