Tips for Waxing - My Guide to Home Hair Removal

Not everybody has the money to spend going to a beauty salon for all their home hair removal needs. For some people it's also just not that comfortable and they feel shy about it.
Whatever the reason, waxing at home is a good option for longer term hair removal, but it takes a bit more planning and knowledge than simply taking a razor into the shower with you.
Check out my tips below for successful home hair removal.

Here are some of my don'ts:
1. Don't wax just after you've been sunbathing or exposed to any other form of excessive heat.
2. Don't go into a bath, hot tub or any other heated water place for a few hours after you've waxed as your skin can get really sore and the pores are more likely to get exposed to bacteria.
3. Don't wax if you are suffering from any kind of allergies or skin condition. Waxing is a super irritant to the skin and you'll only make it worse.
4. Don't start waxing and half way through read the instructions. Make sure you read them BEFORE you get started.
5. Be careful not to burn yourself. Test the temperature of the wax using the inside of your wrist NOT your leg!

Some do's for waxing:
1. Make sure you pull the wax strip off in the right direction. You smooth the wax strip down in the direction of the hair growth and then pull off the strip in the other direction.
2. Pull the wax strip off in one very quick motion. You should make sure that your movement to remove the wax strip is fast as doing it slowly will not only hurt more but also be ineffective.
3.Once you've waxed an area - don't go back to it even if you've missed a bit as this can really damage the skin and cause friction burns and bruising.
4. Use tweezers to remove any stray hairs that didn't come out with the waxing.

My final advice is that you should start with waxing just your legs and see how it goes. Waxing bikini and under arm areas is even more painful and takes a lot of skill. So start with your legs and if you're confident move on and if not, you can always go to a salon for that.
Good Luck

How stop unwanted hair growth on skin?

Usually we remove the hair that we see. This inturn opens up the orifice, and hair follicles, are exposed. When we apply Nohair Lotion ,these are deactivated.
That hair, which we do not see, are present below the skin surface at various stages of growth and do not get removed by usual hair removal methods. Some of the follicles are partially deactivated by initial application of NoHair. Hence, repeated applications are required to get a perceptible effect Though even after first application reduction in the re-growth and frequency of hair removal can be seen.
Effectiveness of NoHair depends of the effective Hair Removal When the hair is plucked/ pulled from the root. It exposes the core of the hair-manufacturing factory to the NoHair. The active principle of the NoHair damages it permanently. Repeated applications of NoHair after every hair removal sessions effectively deactivate more and more hair follicles. As we are all born with a limited number of hair follicles on the body, the number of hair keep declining

Does shaving make hair grow faster?

There is no evidence to prove this. Hair growth takes place in the hair follicle so any speeding up of hair growth would be due to changes in the hair follicle.

Shaving removes the tapered end of the hair so it feels sharp and stubbly when it appears again above the skin. This can give the impression it is growing out fast.

Also, hair that has been shaved will soon become visible again giving the same impression.
When the hair on your scalp grows by a couple of millimeters you hardly notice it. When freshly shaved hair grows by the same amount you immediately notice it as it reappears above the surface of the skin.

Final word: It must be said that every individual responds to shaving differently. This is because a person's hair texture, rate of growth, and skin sensitivity are different from the next person. So give shaving time and experiment with various accessories until you find the ones that really suit you giving you a close shave with minimal damage or irritation to the skin.

What is the best shaving direction?

Shaving in the same direction as the hair growth is the most comfortable method. Shaving against the hair growth certainly gives a much closer shave. Many use a combination of both.

Many dermatologists warn however that shaving against the hair growth can cause ingrown hair and irritation and it can make the skin sore and sensitive.

What is Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal is a procedure by which hair is removed from the body by utilizing a long pulse laser. Lasers are developed and designed from years of research. The laser parameters are carefully defined by studying the anatomy of the hair follicle and precisely matching the laser light and pulse duration to the follicle size, depth and location to inhibit the re-growth of the hair.

Laser hair removal is performed by a specially-trained laser specialist or a doctor depending on where you go, who distributes the light of a long pulse laser onto the skin. The laser works by disabling hairs that are in their active growth cycle at the time of treatment. Since other hairs will enter their growth cycle at different times, several treatments are necessary to disable all of the follicles in a given area.
