There should be two separate breakers for the cooling system. The furnace breaker you turned on. Now there should be a double breaker in the power panel labeled A/C or Air Conditioner. In addition there should be a disconnect at or near the outside unit. Make sure it is in the on position also. Set the thermostat to cool and the outside unit should start and run.

AC unit does not kick in, NO hum from motor, blower on furnace comes on, Capacitor looks good, any other ideas? Could I have a bad motor?

There is a relay in the outside unit that is controlled by the furnace. You need to check that voltage is coming to it from the furnace. If it is then you need to change the relay. High voltage is present in the unit. Turn of the breaker before doing this

My air conditioner won't turn on. I have flipped the breaker, I have changed the thermostat batteries, have checked the filter and it is clean, have tested the furnace but still can't find the problem

Turn your fan from auto to on, your fan should run. If it does not turn on you have a 24volt problem.
Go down to furnace and remove thermostat wires at control board. Install a jumper between R and G. Put door back on and turn furnace on. If fan comes on you have a wiring or control issue, If fan does not come on iot is possible that a little 3amp fuse located on the board is blown or your tansformer is bad.
Remove jumper bewteen R and G and put it between R and Y. Put door backon and turn on power. If your AC starts, you have a wiring problem.
If it does not start, did you check to make sure the breaker or fuse is not blown on the air conditioner?

Turned AC thermostat to Cool today - AC didn't come on. The last time we used AC (March 2009) it worked fine. I can hear the AC Relay Board, inside the trailer, click when switching from Cool/Off &...

Just clicking is all your getting from ceiling assembly? No other modes work such as fan, or furnace? If that's the case, check your circuit breakers to make sure it didn't trip.

Power to AC does not stay on

Sounds like you might have more than one issue. If the breaker is tripping could be the compressor. If you have to press in the contacts to make it come on something is not sending 24 volts to the contactor. may be a bad wire that runs from the outdoor unit to the control board in the furnace.

Furnace problem

The problem is most likely in the control module of the roof air unit. Dometic uses the thermostat to activate and deactivate a relay in the control board of the roof ac unit whiich is just visible when you remove your air intake screen. The two blue with white stripe wires are the furnace control wires.

The furnace turns on and off by the opening and closing of relay. Most likely, the furnace control relay is stuck in the on position. On the thermostate, remove the fur wire and see if the furnace quits afrer it cycles down...it does not quit right away. With the termostat out of the loop, if the furnace does not shut down, the problem is in the control box. They are not hard to replace but you must be careful with the live wiire from the 110 ciucuit breaker. If you are not comfortable with the repair, take it to a dealer. The part number is on the assembly box. They need to know if you have the heat srip option or whatever othert options our Roof AC has. If the furnace still runs with the blue/white wires disconnected, the furnace wires are shorted somewhere between the furnace and the AC control unit.

Furnace will not light, but there is gas to the house

This problem will need to broken down in several steps. First, reset all the breakers that operate the furnace and ac. Turn the thermostat to on and the ac to off and see if the furnace blower starts. Get back with me.
