Question about Grilling

Open Question

My char-broil performance series model# 463453206 grill is having trouble getting a large flame. All burners will ignite with fire coming from all of the little holes on the burners but the flames seem very small, i was thinking it may be due to the burners being dirty. If this is so, how do i go about cleaning them and what would i use to do so??

SOURCE: Low gas flame

Also read the manual, You must open the LP tank valve very slow, the new tanks have funny safety design, I had low flame on the 2nd use w/full tank and was puzzled because it was high flame on the night before.

The regulator is damaged. This is the little round between the hose connected to your knob adjustment and the Gas tank. This one is not expensive. it costs less than 30 bucks. Good Luck.

SOURCE: My Char Broil gas grills flame is taller than it

You need to clean the burners/pathways, its not getting enough oxygen and the flame is starved.

Before buying anything, look into the burners for spider webs. The webs block gas from getting to the burner and will fire back. This is dangerous. Look carefully where the gas nozzle enters the burner tube.

First burner ignites quickly, second and third take up to 3 minutes IF they fire at all. burners are not clogged.

If the first burner's flame characteristic's look right, the remaining burners need to be removed and the venturi valves and burner orifices checked for obstructions and cleaned if necessary. That's generally the cause of delay ignition.

Hope this helped and Happy Grilling!

Only one of four burners will light.

Hello, there is a carry over tube between the burners that looks like a burner hold down at the back of the grill. This is likely rusted closed and will need to be cleaned or replaced. The clips that hold the tube down are part # 7000132 and the tube part # is 7000280. They can be purchased directly from Char-Broil or Sears parts.

Charbroil master flame gas grill the flame is either very high or very low

How old is the grill? The size of the holes in the burner is critical. As burners age, the holes rot out, and get bigger. The velocity of the gas exiting the holes has a large effect on flame size. New burner is the most typical solution.
