The button switches could have some dust or oxidation, and need cleaning. I would suggest taking it in to a jeweler and have them clean the button switches and ensure the battery contacts are clean, also.
You can do this yourself if you have the expertise, but otherwise I would recommend taking the watch into a reputable jeweler.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

Hi, this is how to set time on your Timex Watch
Analog (Dial) Watch

  • Locate the knob on the side.
  • Pull the knob out. The second hand should stop ticking.
  • Twist the knob clockwise until the correct time is displayed on the watch face.
  • Push the knob back in, and the the second hand will resume ticking.

Timex Digital Watch
  • Press and hold the "Set" button for 2 seconds. The "Set" button is on the lower right side.
  • Press the "Date Advance" button on the upper right side. This will reset the seconds.
  • Press the "Change Mode" button on the lower left to set the hour. The hour will flash. Press the "Date Advance" button until the correct hour is displayed.
  • Press the "Change Mode" button again to set the correct 10s unit (first digit 1 or 0) for the minutes. Press the "Date Advance"button until the correct first digit of the minutes is displayed. Repeat this step to set the second digit of the minutes.
  • Repeat Steps 1 through 4 of this section to set the year, month, date and day and whether to use 12- or 24-hour time for your watch.
  • When finished, press the "Set" button (on the lower right) to return to the current time view and lock in your settings.

Hi, that is a very strange message that i have never heard of on the Timex watch. I think you need to see a watch repairer to check that out...

The compass on myTimex WS4 fails to calibrate. Have tried removing the battery and resetting everything but still no joy. Is the any other way to calculate the compass?

There is a process to make an all reset. After the reset try again. The user user manual can be downloaded from Timex. Make very sure the watch is absolutely flat and far from metal objects. Even being near most furniture can effect the reading because they can have metal springs. Many homes have a lot of metal in their construction. It's best to calibrate the compass out doors away from power wires or cars or anything metal. On the street you can have metal under the pavement.

If this does not work call Timex. There have been instances where the compass module or sensor had to be changed. I have the same watch. It's a very good one.

Timex compass properly not working

Hi,

First, assuming you do not have the manual, following the notes below, find an outdoors location away from any medal building, obstructions, etc. You must calibrate the compass to get anywhere near the +/- 10 degrees accuracy readings claimed.

Timex has two ways to find information about your particular watch. If you don't have the manual, Try this link:
http://www.timex.com/info/Product_Instruction_Guides_Downloads

Now, look up the model number, or if you cannot find that, check the three-digit Module Number from the back of the watch. Click on it in the Module Table, and download a PDF of your watch setting-instructions/manual.

I hope this helps you. Thanks, Bill

I though I had a dead battery and had it replace since then it looses time and the compass does not work Does this watch have two batteries The person that replaced the battery could not see but one...

The Timex web site for similar models implies only one battery.

I would have thought space was a little too restricted for two batteries.

It seems likely that there is something else wrong and the watch should therefore be taken to an authorised repair agent (see Timex web site for details).

I'm looking for a watch strap for a ladie's Timex expedition Adventure Tech watch. Where do I find one??

Timex stores are the only place I have been able to find their straps consistently. If you have a standard lug set up you might be able to get a similar after market strap at your local repair shop.

For Timex locations visit their web site...

Here's the inside of my Timex Expedition Dive watch. To reset the watch after replacing the battery, press down with a small screw driver on the metal tab that the red arrow is pointing to.
