How do I transfer pictures from my blackberry device to the media card?

It's recommended to buy a microSD card to store your media files on, so you don't run out of memory on your device.

Depending on what OS your BlackBerry is tells you what size microSD card you can buy. You can check under Options ' About (will be listed as v4.xx.xxx). Look at the chart at the following link to see what size you can obtain -http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB05461

On the BlackBerry go into Options ' Media Card. Recommended media settings are as follows:

Media Card support : ON
Encryption Mode : NONE
Mass Storage Support : ON
Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected : YES

Mass Storage mode allows your BlackBerry to act as an extra drive when connected to your PC. So it will show up as an extra drive letter in Windows Explorer. So you can just drag/drop media files onto your media card and vice versa.

Or if you use ITunes, you can you the Media Sync to synchronize with the device. Read up about that here:http://na.blackberry.com/eng/devices/features/media/mediasync.jsp#tab_tab_overview

Complete the following steps:
1) Use a search engine or a dedicated download site to find and download a third-party conversion tool. The tool must have the ability to convert the format of the audio or video file to a file format that the Media application can read.
2) Install the third-party conversion tool and follow the program instructions to convert the audio or video file to a format that the Media application supports. Refer to the following tables for optimal settings in the Media application.
Optimal settings for the Media application on the BlackBerry 9000 series smartphones:-
For video setting's
a) Video format: MPEG-4.
b) Video file extension: .avi
c) Resolution (4:3): 240x180
d) Resolution (16:9): 320x180
e) Video bitrate: 400 Kbps
f) Frames per second: 24

For Audio settings:-
a) Audio format: MP3

Note: BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.2 must be installed on the computer.

  1. On the BlackBerry smartphone, go to Options > Advanced Options > Media Card.
  2. Make sure that Mass Storage Mode Support is set to Enabled.
  3. Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer and follow the prompts on the BlackBerry smartphone.

If the below does not work, maybe just attach it to an email and send it that way. Good Luck
About transferring media files
You can connect your BlackBerry® device to your computer to transfer files between your device and your computer, or you can use
Bluetooth® technology to send media files to or receive media files from a Bluetooth enabled device.
If you connect your device to your computer, you can transfer files between your media card and your computer using mass storage mode,
or you can transfer media files between your device and your computer using the media manager tool of the BlackBerry® Desktop
Manager. For more information about using the media manager tool, see the Media Manager Online Help.
If you turn on media card encryption and you transfer files to your media card using mass storage mode or Bluetooth technology, your
device does not encrypt the transferred files. If you transfer encrypted files from your media card using mass storage mode or Bluetooth
technology, you cannot decrypt the files on your computer or on a Bluetooth enabled device.
Transfer a file between your device and your computer using the media manager tool
1. Connect your BlackBerry® device to your computer.
2. On your computer, open the BlackBerry® Desktop Manager.
3. Double-click Media Manager.
4. Drag a file or folder from one location to another.

When i put my media card in my blackberry it says its not there?

back up first all of your files.then format your media card using your Blackberry, not your PC.If it is still same problem after formatting, try to replace another media card and check if other media is working in your phone.lastly,if still not working its already a hardware problem, its a memory card IC,not working anymore, you must replace it.

I am going to guess that since you can copy some types of media files to your phone then the problem is the format of the video files you want to copy. The phone's media playing application may not show files it cannot recognize.(or show an error message).

If you want to watch videos (or movies) on any type of smart phone or mobile player then I suggest you download a free application called Format Factory. It converts any type of media file to any other type of media file (video, music, pictures, DVDs). It has settings for Blackberry phones, iPods, PsP, etc. Go to: http://www.formatoz.com/ and check it out.

Can't open data stored on media card

Connect the BlackBerry to your computer.
Open My Computer, and open Properties of the drive.
What does it show under File System?

The BlackBerry cannot read NTFS, so make sure that it is not an NTFS file system. if it is, move your files off the card, and format it as FAT, then put the files back on the card after the format.

Otherwise, without the BlackBerry connected to the computer, go to Options (or Setting > Options, depending on your Theme),
Then opem Media Card, or Memory (depending on your Theme and software version).

What does it say about the card? Does it say that it is connected, or that there is no card?
