The problem is the pressure switch has failed or the hose is plugged up, has a hole in it. These are usually inexpensive and are very easy to replace. Here is a video this will walk you thru testing and replacing a pressure switch. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. All parts come with installation instructions. Not all models are available.

Why did my washer quit spinning out in spin cycle

Quite often the problem with spin cycles is that the cycle cannot start until a sufficient amount of wash/rinse water has drained. So what will often happen is that the washer drains, the cycle starts, a lot of water comes out of the clothes, it stops, waits for the water to drain, then restarts. If the drain pump or drain lines are restricted or blocked or the pump is faulty, the unit may never achieve spin cycle.

How do I drain all the water from the drum?

Depends, on model but all will drain if you disconnect the tub to pump hose. Do not confused liquid manufactured into the bowl for balancing on spin with a small amount of water left in the outer bowl when the cycle is finished.

I have a frigidaire washing machine and it spins out just a small amout of water during the cycle, not a lot , have checked the pump and it works, just wondering if it could possibly be the lid lock

It would not agitate if it were the lid lock, just as agitation should stop when you open the lid during cycles. More likely it's something blocking the drain hose. Here is a link to an excellent online repair manual. Click on the picture of the wash machine, then go to chapter 2. Then have a look at Section 2-3.

The control knob that says small low medium large does it work if you put our small setting is the water stopped early like it is supposed to. If the water level is too high during spin cycle it is possible to run up and over the side. Let me know Ed

During the rinse and spin cycle, water is sprayed everwhere

There may be too much water and not enough clothes in the washer. If that is the case the water rises up the side of the tub when spinning and overflows the inner tub. Usually it goes into the outer tub but it can spurt out through bleach dispenser and run down the inside of the cabinet or hit the lid and splash out. Set water level (Xsmall, small, medium, large, Xlarge) appropriate for amount of clothes.
