Why does my garmin turn off for no reason while I'm driving? Does not seem to be the cable that is plugged into the cig. lighter. Also, takes a long time to find satellites. Would an upgrade (at a cost of $70.) be of benefit to increase time finding satellites?

I then pressed the power on button on the side of the device- the screen lit up, I then plugged one end of the USB cable into my computer and the other end into the device. The information on the screen of the device indicated the Lithium Battery was charging properly.
