I have a Hoover wind tunnel that suddenly stopped working when the cannister got full. Once emptied still would not start. Anything to fix this? Does it have an automatic shut off when full?

If the airflow is restricted the motor will overheat. Most vacuums have a thermal heat sensor built into the motor which will shut the motor off until it cools down.

Seems to overheat and shut down

clean the hose very well that is sure to fix you problem I repair vacuums for a living this is very common do not use it again until you clean the hose really well stick a pole to a broom all the way through the hose and rinse the filters in hot water and let them air dry and it will run like normal when you push the broom stick through the hose it will free it of any debris if this does not work it is trash

My dyson just quit all of a sudden??

Hi Brian, it's Jack at Dyson.

If your DC41 shut itself off during use, this is likely to be due to a blockage - the filter may also need a wash. Most Dyson vacuums are engineered to shut down for protection if they start to overheat.

To locate and remove any blockages, please follow the steps shown in our online Support guide:
http://content.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=1580&product=DC41-IRSPU

In normal use, DC41's filters need to be washed at least once every three months, as shown in the video attached. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 24 hours for the filters to dry completely before replacing them.

I'm confident this will resolve the issue, but if you would like any further advice you can reach us directly by emailing askdysonUS@dyson.com

Best wishes,

Jack

Shark infinity vacuum nv31c motor overheats. everything is clean and free of clogs. it will work for 3-4 minutes, then shut off. does the motor need replacing?

Mine takes longer to shut down, but I just started having this same problem. I wish I knew what's causing it so I could fix it. I think maybe we had a power surge at some point when I was using it last week. :(

Flair Cleaner makes squeaking noises

There are two items that could squeak:
If it squeaks when pushing/pulling it on carpet, WHILE NOT RUNNING, then the wheels are squeaking when they rotate on the wheel shaft. If so, one drop of oil at the shaft would fix it.

If it squeaks WHILE RUNNING, mostly while pulling backwards on carpet, then the belt is slipping. You may wish to set the nozzle height setting for a higher pile carpet, or could replace the rubber belt.

Vacuum shuts down after a short time and needs to cool off before being restarted.

Could be the protector, it usually is located by the motor. But I am sure that this has a 1 year warranty on it, so if it is less then that, take it in for warranty service. But it also could be that you have a clogged filter, hose is clogged, or the dirt inlet by the brush roll is clogged. A clog will cause the motor to overheat and shut down until it is cleared.

Go to the above website and at the bottom left you will see a section called "srevice and support".
This section may help in finding parts other than what is on the website.
Your vacuum is a Hoover and model is a Flair.

Hoover Flair S2200

Should be the same, Hoover would only have one S2200 model and it doesn't matter who is selling it.
