I need a manual for a JCPenney Model 6601. Or at least how to thread it.

Back in my 7th grade home ec class (I'm 52 yo now), our teacher told us that all machines thread basically the same and I never forgot that and it has served me well through the years. No matter what brand of machine, or level of machine (from little girls first one, my embroidery or my heavy duty industrial leather machine) they have all threaded the same:
Thread spool
thread guide
thread guide
tension
take up lever
thread guide
thread guide
needle
(the number of thread guides may vary)
Best of luck and happy sewing!

Janometroubleshooting

checks that the strip wire and strip wire sensor, this worked well.
(the strip threads is the small spring by which you spend the thread to thread)

Having trouble with the bobbin on an elna 1010, the thread bunches up

OIl on the bobbin will cause you problems as it affects the thread feed. Clean the area and check the bobbin thread rension.

Loower looper keeps braking.

Sergers are... well can be a pain. "Lower looper thread keeps breaking." Ok... so Here is what I Would do. Get your magnifying glass out and really get in close with a good light and look for burrs on the looper. Also look for burrs on the throat plate, etc. If you find one use some very fine sand paper and carefully smooth it off.

If that doesn't help or fix it. Take it in to a repair shop and tell them what's going on. you might need it timed too. Good luck

My needle thread keeps bunching and llooping on the underside of the fabric. I have re-threaded the needle, adjusted the tension and cleaned out the bobbin case.

If you getting loops on the bottom of your material, you need to re-thread the top of your machine. I say this because it is very rare when you will have to adjust the bobbin tension. But if you must, looking straight down at the bobbin as a clock- at 6:00 is the bobbin tension adjustment- lefty lucy, righty tighty. Hope this helps.

Make sure the needle is inserted in the machine properly- a good rule of thumb is the flat side of the needle should go to the opposite side of the last thread guide. Also make sure the machine is threaded correct
There is no standard tension for any machine to be set at. They start at four when they are brand new, however, after years and years the springs become compressed. You could start at four and then play around with it from there. If you are getting loops underneath the material, you are threading the machine incorrectly.

Not sure if i have put bobbin back in correctly, I have an old janome sewing machine. Also I havent used a machine for about 10 years, trying to remember.

with the brother its Pretty easy. you drop the bobbin in with the thread heading counter clockwise take your thread around the feed guide in a Clock wise manner then turn your knob it should pick the tread up fairly easily

Huskylock - 530 - Serger won't create 'loop'

My stitch is good, upper and lower correct, but it will sew along and skip stitches. What do I need to do?, am good at repairing things on it all these years, I havent used it a lot the last few years, but it has started this skipping problem.
