Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have an Asus K50IE and when I turn up (or down) the volume, there should be a fancy icon that represents the volume turning up or down (also appears for brightness, etc.), but it 'went missing' :D Please, this is a very annoying to me and I haven't got a clue how to fix this, except reinstalling everything, from Windows to the last program, for which I really have no time... Help please!

Seems like a Driver problem, no need to install Windows over again. Just Right Click my Computer, then go to the Hardware Tab and choose "Device Manager" under there do u see any Yellow Exclamation marks?? .. if so, then go to the link below and use the Auto Detect feature for the drivers

If that does not work, if you remember when it worked last. U can do a System Restore to that date in the past. Go to Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, then System Restore

See info here for how to do the System Restore:

Asus K50IE FN+F2 does not work, my wifi is permanently turned off

Hi,

Just use an external keyboard to press Fn + F2. Either the Fn key or the F2 key is not working. Make sure that those keys are not stuck or no dust and any particles are accumulated under the key caps.

Hope this helps.

Acertravelmate4000 got it used, don,t know how to turn off mute, turn on or up volume

The volume may be muted. In Windows, look at the volume
control (speaker) icon on the taskbar. If it is crossed-out, click on
the icon and deselect the Mute option.
The speakers may be turned off. Press Fn-F8 to turn the speakers
on (this hot key also turns the speakers off).
The volume level may be too low. In Windows, look at the volume
control icon on the taskbar.
Fn-? Volume up Increases the sound volume. Fn-? Volume down Decreases the sound volume.

If this helps u let me know
regards

Can't turn volume down!

Go into your sound devices from the control panel. You should be able to raise & lower the volume from there as well as putting the volume icon back into your system tray. Hope this helps.

Love my new Saitek Keyboard, but I don't what some of the buttons do???

You can download a manual here: http://www.saitek.com/manuals/eclipse_manual.pdf For the 1, A, and Down Arrow: My guess is that these are actually the indicator lights for Num Lock, Caps Lock, and Scroll Lock. For the four silver round buttons: The top right corner of your Eclipse keyboard features a set of controls for changing your computer?s audio volume and the brightness of the Eclipse Keyboard?s backlighting. To reduce audio volume, press button A until the desired volume level is reached. To increase volume, press button B. To mute the audio output, press button C and press it again to cancel mute. Press button D to control the brightness of the backlighting. Press the button to scroll through lights off, lights full brightness and lights half brightness.
