You need to do a "tune up" of your piece. Like the sealers , etc...!

How to remove leaking trigger valve on Stanley-Bostitch Nailers

If you are having a problem with air leaking out of the trigger area it is usually a split o ring on the valve assembly. To remove the trigger valve there are 3 roll pins that have to be removed and usually one is shorter so lay them out in the order removed first the trigger and the 2 holding the valve in place. Next get a shop rag or glove and place under the valve holding it in place while holding back the collar on the quick connect (so it won't lock) push it onto the tool and the valve will JUMP out of the tool. Get the replacement valve and before reassembling lightly coat the o rings, you will notice 2 cutouts on the valve which must be aligned with the roll pin holes, push the new valve in and align the slots for easier assembly reassemble in reverse order.

Need to fix the trigger of a nail gun

Hi Nola:
Sounds like a project.
- WORK SAFE - Disconnect from air supply.
- Clean the tool
- Dis-assemble - Be organized - lay out the parts in sequence on an old towel or on your work bench. Clean each part as you go.
- Repair or replace broken part
- Check all other parts for wear or damage.
- Re-assemble - lubricate and check functions as you proceed.
- Connect to air
- Conduct powered function and safety check.
If it works, - GREAT
If it does not work, either do it over again
Or, go buy another gun.
Old guys like me with lots of time love to tinker with problem tools just to get them working right.
Others who are in "production" just buy the new tool.
Cheers.

Blowing air out of trigger

Leaking under trigger could be the ball seal part # 875645 if leak starts as soon as you connect the air hose. If no air leaks when you connect hose but begins to leak when you depress the trigger then replace the oring on the plunger which is part # 874820. If air leaks when you connect the hose and the ball mentioned above is good then most likely is leaking from oring # 876161 installed on cylinder plate (remove head and pull out the plate). Good luck.

My husky framing nailer leaks air around trigger

Leak around trigger could be trigger valve internal orings or orings on the outside of the trigger valve making contact against the body of the gun. Spray soapy water to determine where the air is leaking from. If air is leaking around the outside of the valve, most likely the orings were cut upon installation of the valve. If leaking from internal valve, most likely worn or broken oring; easy to fix if you have a source for orings.

To remove the trigger valve for service or inspection (take close-up photo of trigger area for reference ):
disconnect airline, remove nails, remove trigger retainer pin, remove trigger, remove roll pin /s holding trigger valve in place (use 3mm punch to remove retainer roll pins which are located in the body of the gun just above the trigger valve). With retainer pin/s removed and with gloved hand (under trigger valve), apply air pressure to gun to blow out the trigger valve (use lower pressure to push out trigger valve because it could come out with force.). With trigger valve in hand notice that there are two slots or groove cut neer top of the valve where the retainer pins rest, you will need to reinstall valve into body with slots aligned to retainer pins. Remove retainer pins holding trigger together to pull out internal valve. Good luck and post again if your have other question about the trigger valve.

Hitatchi nv45b2 trigger leaking

Air leaking around the trigger area could be caused by vinyl ball / gasket under trigger valve bushing or orings within the gun. Easy test, remove nails and connect air (assuming that air is now leaking around the trigger area). Depressing the trigger stops the leak, replace vinyl ball. Depressing trigger does not stop leak, move plunger b (plunger B, small shaft under bubber bushing next to the trigger valve) with your finger in then out to determine if air leak changes tone. If air leak changes sound or tone, then air is leaking past orings of the cylinder guide and/or cylinder plate and/ or the cylinder itself is scratched by debris where the orings make contact. Pull out the cylinder and examine the contact areas. If scratched, use 300 grit paper to smooth, if smooth, however, suspect the orings of cylinder guide (or cylinder guide is cracked). The cylinder guide is difficult to remove and install without causing damage to guide or cutting new orings when installing. Do not remove the guide unless all the other options have been checked. One last bit if information, I have noticed that some guns will leak air if the orings on the feeder piston do not fit snuggly. Make sure that leaking sound is not coming from feeder area (remove the basket and feeder/feeder pin/spring and pull out the feed piston, making sure that the largest oring is making good contact within the cylinder). Good luck with repair.

DeWalt D51822 Framing Nailer: Replaced the trigger valve and air is still coming from the nose of the gun. I would think no air should get past the trigger valve until pressed. What's wrong?

Dewalt framing nailers use some vinyl orings (gold or clear in color) that fail too soon in both the trigger and the cylinder spacer. Air out the nose of gun indicates air is leaking past the cylinder spacer seals (If piston is pushed down with air leak then headvalve seal is leaking (remove nails for this test)). If piston is not pushed down with leak, remove head and pull out the cylinder with cylinder spacer (white plastic). Place the cylinder on workbench with bottom up. Push down on locking ring and remove retainer to release all the other parts. Take picture or take note of parts together and as you pull them off to aid in re-assembly. You will need to replace the two orings between the white cylinder spacer and the cylinder. Order oring kit from dewalt or just purchase one ( # 141 universal oring ) and one metric oring 74.4mm x 3.1mm from hydraulic parts store. If the piston was pushed down with air leak, replace headvalve orings in the head. Good luck with your repair

If the trigger still works to fire the single shot, then the o-ring kit should be sufficient. If the trigger area continues to leak air, then the trigger should be replaced as well. Keep the gun well lubricated as well.

Air leaks arond trigger when depressed, but no nail fires.

Where does the air leak out from? If it leaks from the trigger DeWalt makes a trigger valve assembly part # 641006-00 list 8.89 BUT if it leaks from other areas we have to look into it deeper. If it is just the trigger valve let me know and I will give you instructions how to remove and install the new one.
