If it dosen't make a growling sound th L. margin is probably set there. Go to that point touch but don't hold thr MAR REL key, backspace to desired location, press L. mar. key. If it growls put a little WD40 on the silver shaft that the carrier slide on.

It will not advance up when hitting return (but will return to the left side). Carriage/Roller is very tight when manually turning.

Either there is a bind in the platen (roller) or there is a piece of paper or other object caught in the feed rolls.

Swintec 2600-My cartridge is stuck on the left side -making a continuous beeping noise-how do I fix it

Look for debris in the area left of the printhead, anything that stops it from going all the way to the side frame.

How do you clear a tab someone preset. when I get to the far right of page and hit return it will on return to a tab. How do I clear all the preset margins or tabs.?? thanks

To clear margins, you have to hit the return button to find the left margin, then hit margin release and back space to move the margin left or spacebar to move to the right, then hit left margin button to set the new position. Right margin now. Hold spacebar down and find right margin position, hit margin rease and either spacebar to the right or backspace to the left to the new margin position then hit right margin button to set the new position. Tabs now. hit the tab key, when it goes to the first set tab, hit the tab clear key, then hit the tab key again, then tab clear again etc.

Can't get the left margin to change, it is stuck way over on the right side and when I hit return it goes to about the center of the typewriter

Hi,
On carriage return the machine locates LH margin. In your case the LH margin is set in centre.
Press the margin release key when at the margin location position.
Use the backspace key to return to the extreme left.
Space forward to were you want the new margin.
Press Margin Left set.

If it is the left margin, you touch the carriage return button to find the current position of the left margin, then touch the mar release button and backspace to the new left margin location, then depress the left mar key. You should here a beep. You are done.
