Any luck with checking antenna connections? I have a service manual if you need it. Tuner section in this old girl predates the LM7001. Uses ha1137-38 chips, bit more complex to repair.

Even with just a short wire, this model should be receiving a number of stations. Is there an IC inside marked LA7001 or something similar? If so, it is probably defective. This is a common failure. I'll look up your specific model later to confirm.

I have a old pioneer stereo double cassette deck reciever model # RX-Z15, i dont understand the bal/unbal fm antenna hook ups cant get reception , need to know where to hook up the antenna or what kin

Buy a 300ohm FM Y antenna wire screw the spade ends into the balance hookup and fasten the Y section on your wall, "higher the better" this will improve reception. The antenna can be purchased at Radio Shack or Tv repair shop.

Power switch on my Pioneer SX-950 receiver is hard to move.

Buy some electronic contact cleaner in a spray can, attach straw, "unplug receiver" and spray the power button, you may have to remove to be more effective.

How do i hook up an antenna to the pioneer sx-950

There are two antenna sources on the Pioneer SX-950.

Both of these outputs are located on the rear panel of the receiver. The AM is a permanent mount. The FM is standard RF/Coax which will run to your antenna.

Antenna Inputs: FM 75 ohm, FM 300 ohm

Kenwood RV7030 audio-video stereo has static without antenna

OK I am going to suggest two aerials for you. I would also NOT use the old cable as it will cause a lot of problems. It is best to replace it with the stuff they use for satellite dishes (see image).
The FM aerial will pick up signals from all sides. The TV aerial should give high quality signals and output for at least 5 sets.

I have a 'vintage' (70's) Pioneer sx 535. What is the simplest way to hook up an FM antenna?

Depends on the connection on the back. Most older receivers used unbalanced 300ohm connections. In short, any speaker wire will do. Newer models used a "F" type connection (Coax end) which you can still cheat and get a 75 to 300 adapter at radio shack or any other local electronics store. Hope this helps.

My turntable works on old reciever and not new one

A traditional turntable only works on Phono (which contains special preamplification and equalization circuitry designed to raise the the level and flatten out the response of a phono cartridge).

After you do that, iIf you're not having hum problems I wouldn't worry about the ground. Or try it again on the FM Ground.

Connecting Pioneer SX-737 Receiver to computer problems

I've been recording LPs for over a year now.

I've got the turntable outputs plugged into the phono inputs on the receiver amp.

I'm taking the Y cord (pair of RCA connectors at one end, mini plug at other) from the Tape Record (these are what you'd use to send a signal to the tape deck for recording) on the amp to the "line in" on the sound card. You may want to look up the specs on your sound card to make certain that you've got the plug in the correct socket. There may be a "line in" and a "microphone" socket. Use the "line in"

What recording software are you using? Audacity is free and is ok. I'm using Goldwave (costs ~$50) and highly recommend it. MUCH better than any other package I've tried. Just google "goldwave" to find it.

The recording software should have an option for selecting / specifying a source. If you have "microphone" selected and the y cord going into the "line in" socket, yoiu won't get anything.
