Can not figure out how to open to change ink..... MP 620 B

Hi, please try doing this.

openlid.gif The instructions that go with this illustration essentially say the following:
- With the power to the printer turned ON, open the paper output tray, gently. (Not shown being done, here, but rather the following...)
- Lift the scanning unit/copier bed by the front with hands placed as shown .... the carriage with the ink cartridges in it will move to a convenient position automatically. (This is why you need the power on when you do this, if replacing ink cartridges.)

here's the rest of what to do:
takeouttank.gif
Push tab(s), (A), in front of ink cartridge(s).
Lift ink cartridge(s) by the front, as shown by the blue curved arrow.
DO NOT TOUCH OR RELEASE THE PRINTHEAD LEVER, (B). Easy enough to avoid, but it ruins things if printhead is loosed while ink cartridges are in it.
Not that there are colored areas just behind the ink cartridge receptacles, that show what colors belong in which slot, when you put the new ones in.
...When putting the new ones in, be sure you have removed the tape covering the contacts etc, and be sure you don't touch the contacts nor the ink nozzle area on the bottom... both are potentially ruined by being touched.
And lastly, this nice animated image shows ink cartridges being put in:

I have a Lexmark X125 printer. I just bought new ink cartridges because I ran out of ink. I followed the directions on the printer to install the ink cartridges and the printer keeps flashing the words...

Remove the cartridges and close the lid. Allow the system to try to calibrate and complain. Open the lid. Check the cartridge bottoms to make sure you removed the plastic cover on the jet heads.
Replace the cartridges and make sure they clip. Close the lid to finish.

if this does not solve it. Remove the cartridges and then unplug the unit from the power. hold the power button down for 10 seconds then give 20 seconds more. this will clear all power. Place the new cartridges in and close the lid. power the unit on and test for success

Black ink cartridge doesn't work.

Have you tried
  1. Taking out all the cartridges
  2. Power down the power
  3. Power up the printer
  4. Open the scanner Cover
  5. Close the scanner cover
  6. Message will ask you to put the ink.
  7. Put in Black
  8. Close scanner cover
  9. It may ask you whether the Black is being changed.
  10. Open the cover.
  11. Install Cyan.
  12. Repeat step 8-10 for the rest of the 2 colours.
  13. It should resolve the Black ink empty message.
Let us know if this works.

Thank you.

Print cartridges

  1. When one or more ink cartridges are empty, for example, Black, the LCD shows “Ink Empty Black” and “Open Cover.” Close the printer’s document support and the document tray.
  2. Lift the top cover to the open position until it locks securely into place.
  3. Pull the ink cartridge hook toward the front of the printer and remove the color ink cartridge displayed on the LCD. Place the cartridge in a plastic bag as it may still contain some residual ink and may leak.
  4. Open the new ink cartridge bag for the color shown on the LCD and remove the new ink cartridge. The cartridge cover may come off when you open the bag. This is not uncommon and will not damage the cartridge.
  5. Each color has its own correct position that is clearly labeled and color coded inside the printer. Keep the ink cartridge in an upright position when you insert it into slot. It will only fit in the correct direction. Press down on the ink cartridge until the hook snaps over it.
  6. If you replaced an ink cartridge while “Near Empty” was displayed on the LCD, the LCD may ask you to verify that the replacement cartridge was brand new one. Example: “Did You Change Black? 1.Yes 2.No.” For each new cartridge you installed, press 1 on the dial pad to automatically reset the ink dot counter for that color. If the ink cartridge you installed is not a brand-new one, select 2.

Error message - no ink

Hi Maria,

Try removing all of the ink cartridges again. Open the cover and remove all of the inks. Close the cover and turn the printer off. Leave it off for about 30 to 45 secs. Turn it back on. Install again the ink cartridges. Check if it will charge after closing the cover.

If it still says that ink need replacement, check your lcd panel. Usually it will tell you what ink cartridge needs replacement. This might be a faulty ink cartridge.
