You will need to open the computer case and check that the cables that run from the actual power button to the motherboard are plugged into the proper spot on the motherboard. Sometimes reseating the cable can fix this issue.

I think this is the link to your motherboard documentation: http://www.via.com.tw/download/mainboards/3/4/p4mapro533_r100.pdf

Check the page 2-14 or 2-15 and see if that helps you to identify the actual connection for your power switch.

Computer won't power on right away

Wll it could be your pci controller is damaged.. (In thic case the only solution is to buy a new board)

Or you bios might need flashing..

Unplug your system
Open up the system,
put back in your network card
remove the battery on the main board
hit the power button 7 times
replace the battery
plug it back in and try to boot now

When it boots, you need to enter the setup and load your default settings then save and exit..

K8N mortheboard no signal screen

HI,

In this new tower you are swttching to, does it have it's own power supply? And if so, what are the amps, and what are the amps on your old power supply? I have the K8N, and it needs at least 450W to run decent. Let me know?

> power led,

Runs to the LED (Light Emitting Diode) labelled "power" on the front of your computer-case

> H.D.D led,

Runs to the front-panel LED that lights-up whenever the Hard Disk Drive is being used.

> reset sw,

Runs to the "reset" button on the front panel.

> speaker

Runs to the internal speaker

> s/b sw

Very briefly touch a metal-tip screwdriver between these 2 pins.
If the computer powers-on, you've found the "power" connector.

Mobo power

Hi,
There are jumpers on the motherboard,
check all jumpers are set correctly, as from the user manual, this could be a problem.

check all your front lights are wired properly
power button, reset switch, must be correct too.
double/treble check them before building it.

Power problem to cmputer

Hi,
Kindly check the connection from the front power button to the motherboard. The front power button wire may not be plugged into the correct jumper.
if that wire is hooked correctly, remove the memory modules from the system and all other wires from the board , except the power supply connectors to the board and then power it on , check the status of the light on the power button.
if you can provide us with the model number of the motherboard , we would be able to help you better

Comp not firing up

Something may be shorting out the board. Try taking the motherboard out and turning it on without the case. Just put the motherboard and power supply on a non-static surface. A box works well. Then use a flathead screw driver to temporary "jump" the 2 power switch pins for the front panel connection (as you wont be turning it on while inside the case).

If that doesnt work, then replace power supply. You could also take one out of another working computer just to test.
