your drum rollers are probably dry and need to lubricate the shafts. to get to them remove the lint catcher and the 2 screws you see there. Then lay it on it's back and pry the top off at the corners between the top panel and the front panel. The top will snap off, then on the inside of the front panel towards top remove 2 screws that hold the front to the cabinet and make sure you disconnect the door switch wires then remove the front completly and from there you can spay wd-40 0r use a lite oil on the shafts of the drum rollers. See if that helps. Also check your felt seals. If this doesn't fix ya you might have too weak of a motor. Good luck

SOURCE: DRUM DOES NOT TURN

Try turning the drum by hand. If it spins easily with no resistance, the belt has failed. On the back of the appliance you should find a label identifying the Make, Model, and Serial Number. Take down all the information provided, and then find a local appliance shop that carries that brand. Order the new belt.

SOURCE: LG dryer model DLG5932s. When

Hi.

When the motor makes an humming noise and does not start, that usually means that the motor is stuck.

Check if you can turn the drum by spinning it with your hand. If drum is seized check the drum bearing and rollers.
Check also the state of the belt at the back of the appliance.

If the drum is not seized and the belt is correctly in place, then the motor must be replaced. The motor can tested by reading Amps. If the motor is OK it will not draw more than 10/12 amps. If amperage is more than that, then the motor is defective.

Here all parts and diagrams for your appliance.

Regards.

Ginko.

My front end load dryer makes a humming noise when started then goes to pause

Have you checked the drying drum to see if it spins freely? Open the door and verify it spins freely. if it does then the motor may just be in a bad spot. usually after spinning the drum a turn or two it will get it running. it humms and clicks because of the motor not turning and trips an thermal overload switch and you have to wait for it to reset. Now if the drum dosent turn then you have a problem with drum rollers or something stuck in the way of the drum.

The dryer is plugged in and the circuts seem to work however the dryer is making a humming noise but it will not turn on fully.

what do you mean it won't fully turn on?do you mean the motor won't run because usually when it humms you either have a bad motor or something is jammed and stopped the motor from spinning.try this, open the door, with one hand hold the door switch in and with the other hand spin the drum, have someone else push the start button while you do this,if it starts the motor is bad,if you can't spin the drum something could be stuck in the blower wheel or the belt broke and could of jammed up the motor but it sounds like you have a bad motor.let me know what you find and next time send the brand name and model number.

Dryer will not start or turn when you push the start button. At first it would just humm when you pressed the start button now it won't do anything. the drum belt is on and you can turn the drum by hand.

Dryer has power, belt is in place, when start is twisted, humms only. Drum can be moved by hand, but is stiff, not super loose.

If the drum is not turning and the hum is a nice quiet hum, then the belt on the drum has broken. The hum you hear is the motor turning without the belt.

If this helps you, please select YES to one of the first two ratings questions. Thank you, and Good Luck.
