rip, couple of checks to do: On the main board, connector J3. On the harness you should have 400 ohms on J3-1 (yellow) to J3-2 (red/black) and 400 ohms on J3-3 (white/brown) to J3-4 (blue yellow. Same values should be at the damper motor. If you don't have those values, damper motor defective. One other check, you have 10 seconds to do this on power up, so get some help. Plug in the refer. Check for 6 VDC. DC voltage now from pins J3-1 to J3-4. If you don't have this it's the board. If you do have this and the dampers not working, replace the damper. Catriver.

It has a defrost problem. Most likely cause would be the defrost thermostat which clips onto the evaporator behind the back panel in the freezer. Next most common would be the defrost timer. Third would be the defrost heater. Let me know if you want to try to test these parts. If so I will need the entire model # from the sticker in the fridge or on older models on a plate at the bottom front below the door.

You need a qualified technician for this problem.
- Your unit may have leaking try to check for oil traces.
- The system maybe restricted, system reprocess is needed for this unit.
- If the unit is no frost try to check if there is an air circulation inside the unit. If no air is present then check your fan motor inside.

if the evaporator is clogged with ice, then you have a defrost problem.
check the defrost heater and the bi-metal .
to answer your question what controls the fan then it is the module that controls the fan.
you said you have diagnostic to test the damper then there should be a procedure also to test the evaporator fan motor.
why don't you try it..
tnx 4 using fixya,

I found this problem addressed on applianceblog.com and per they recomended part # 67006166. My repairman ordered this part and it had been superseeded by an even newer version, # 10127429. He installed that newest version in late June 2008 and it has been great ever since. So for me # 10127429 was the answer. Hope this helps
