Sounds as if your bake igniotr has gone , or is going bad, if you remove the lower tra in oven cavity it will expose the "glow coil ignitor" after removing the power source you can unscrew and remove the ignitor form the burner bar and bring to local repair company for replacement ignitor, 50-90 bucks depending on which part it is, essy enought repair

Why does my oven reach temperature then fail to maintain it

For a more precise answer I need more information like is it light illuminates when the failure is occurred. If the light illuminates then is faulty oven thermostat. If the light does not illuminates then is faulty main temperature limiter.

I own a Kenmore elite Model 790.4660 electric range. When I attempt to use the oven there is a beeping message "F30ERR" Thank you. Mark

Thank you for question. I understand your concern with your Frigidaire range. Without knowing the model number I can't be 100 percent certain but F30 generally implies an open oven temperature sensor probe. The oven temperature sensor probe is located inside the oven cavity in the rear upper left or rear upper right hand corner. It can generally be removed and disconnected from inside the oven cavity.

Check the wiring harness connections between the control board and the oven temperature sensor probe connector. Check the resistance or the sensor at room temperature with an Ohm meter, if less than 996 ohms, replace probe. Check with meter, for shorted probe harness between control & probe connector.

. I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your range.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website:Sears Home Services

Model # 36275621302 stove not maintaining proper temperature. Takes long to bake. Broiler comes on ok. Bottom burner gas comes on and ignites in preheat but then the igniter glows hot but the gas doesn't...

The problem is usually the igniter not reaching the correct amp draw .When the igniter does not reach the correct amp draw it may allow the gas valve to partially open or not open at all. The igniters are inexpensive and easy to replace. This video will walk you thru the correct procedure for testing an oven igniter. It may be a different model but the testing will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. Not all models are available. All parts come with installation instructions.

Says f1

F1 error code usually means that the oven temperature has exceeded 590 degrees. Usually this means that the oven temperature contol sensor ( or thermostat) has failed allowing the heating element to overheat the oven.

To correct this you will need to fit a new sensor. Sometimes the error code can mean a temporary glitch which may be cured by turning off the power for 30 mins and then resetting but if the problem persists then a new sensor is the answer.

My Kenmore electric stove, model number 790.96122407 displays error code F10 after preheating for 10-15 minutes.

The F10 indicates that the electronic oven control board senses a runaway temperature condition in the oven through the oven sensor circuit.
This can be caused by a faulty oven temperature sensor probe or a failed electronic control board.
Oven temperature is detected by the control board as it monitors the resistance through the oven temperature sensor circuit.
You could have a failed oven temperature sensor, a wiring harness failure, an open thermal switch or a failed electronic oven control board that would cause this problem.
The first component to check would normally be the oven temperature sensor probe.
If you have a volt/ohm meter, you can shut off the breaker for the range and remove the screws that mount this sensor to the back wall of the oven.
Carefully pull the wire harness into the oven cavity until you get to the wire harness disconnect plug.
You should have enough slack to pull it this far into the oven.
Disconnect the sensor but do not let the wire harness retract back through the back wall of the oven or it will be hard to reconnect.
Measure the resistance of the oven temperature sensor with your volt/ohm meter. At room temperature, the resistance should measure around 1100 ohms.
The resistance chart is shown in the image below.

If the resistance is above 2200 ohms at room temperature, then the sensor probe is causing the F10 error code and will need to be replaced.

You can order a new sensor probe from the Sears PartsDirect website. The part number for the sensor is 316217002.

If the resistance is normal, then one of the other causes mentioned above is producing your F10 code.
You would need to access the electronic oven control board (Timer) in the console and check the resistance at the sensor circuit connection to the control board as the next step in troubleshooting this problem.

How do you know the thermo sensor is working correctly when it gets hot?. No I think the thermal sensor is defective, it is cheap to buy.

Kenmore oven error code f10

on that type of range F10 indicates a problem within the electronic control, but it could possible be caused by a faulty temperature sensor.

I would recommend service from a technician

Electric Diagram for Kenmore Model 790

Has the oven run out of control or gotten too hot? The 790 series is made by Frigidaire and those fault codes are F0 to F8. F2 indicates the temperature sensor is reading too hot. Now with the double oven models, some manufactures add an extra digit to the fault codes to indicate which oven created the fault.

Your most likely fix is to replace the temperature sensor. The most probable locations for the wiring diagram is taped inside the bottom drawer, on the back or under side of the oven, or behind one of the panels on the back of the oven. This might tell you the room temperature resistance for the temperature sensor so you can test it with an ohmmeter and be sure that it is faulty. Try Appliance Parts Pros for replacement sensors.

Check for a loose bulb or faulty door switch. Sometimes a bulb can fail and the filament can reconnect to work at a higher wattage before failing completely.
