This is usually caused by one of two problems. First, the exhaust may be plugged. Pull the screws out of the small screen in the exhaust and wire brush the screen. Reinstall and try again. I had one where some bee's built a nest in the exhaust, no tcommon though.
Second, teh fuel pump in the carburetor may be on its way out. It may provide enough fuel to run at idle but not at high speed. You may need a carburetor rebuild.

Adjust the choke or carburetor. In case your chainsaw stalls when the engine is idling, ensure that the choke is set properly. To do so, first try releasing it to adjust it, and then move the plate and tighten all screws once again. To loosen any grit, spray carburetor cleaner spray on the choke's shaft. The carburetor may also need to be adjusted; consult your owner's manual which will guide you on resetting the idle mix screw.

this problem posted appear's to be in the wrong cataogory but,
Check fuel filter/ fuel pump. I have seen both do that. usually the pumps die, But some have been known to have reduce performance so there isn't the fuel needed in fast demand but may provide adequate pressure when gradually applied
hope this helps
