SOURCE: I left my Sansa Clip MP3 Player plugged.

    Complete Reset of Sansa Clip
  1. Step 1 Turn Sansa Clip on. Press the "Menu" (Home) button on the Sansa Clip.
  2. Step 2 Press the bottom of the scroll wheel until you reach the "Settings" screen. Push the center button to choose "Settings."
  3. Step 3 Scroll down to "Reset All," and select. You will be asked to confirm the reset. Select "Yes." This option will simply allow you to reset the language and location settings on your Sansa Clip. It will not erase data from the clip. To do a complete factory restore, follow steps 4 and 5.
  4. Step 4 In the "Settings" menu, scroll down until you reach "Format" and then select. You will be asked to confirm if you wish to format. Select "Yes."
  5. Step 5 Wait for the screen to say "Formatting Complete." You have now cleared all the files from your Sansa Clip and reset it to factory settings.
  6. Resetting a Frozen Sansa Clip
  7. Step 1 Unfreeze a frozen Sansa Clip by pushing the power button up and holding it for 20 seconds. Release it, and then turn it on again.
  8. Step 2 Go to the Sansa website and download the "Sansa Firmware Updater."
  9. Step 3 Select "Run" when the updater installs. (Installation will take less than two minutes.)
  10. Step 4 Wait for the Sansa Firmware Updater to run through its system test. It will ask you to connect the Sansa Clip to the computer to update your Sansa's software.
  11. Step 5 Connect the Sansa Clip and then remove it from the computer when instructed. If this process does not unfreeze your Sansa Clip, contact Sansa support at the Sansa Firmware Updater website.

How convert m4a to mp3

So, you got an M4a file and you would like to convert it into an mp3? Or are you maybe looking for a m4a to mp3 converter?
First we need to understand what an m4a file really is, before you can convert m4a to mp3. Essentially M4A is an audio file format that makes use of your stock standard MPEG4 compression codec. This is exactly the same compression that comes in the MP4 video file format, except that it doesn't contain a video track.
Just looking for a converter and don't want to bother with the details? Remember, It's always wise to understand what you are working with before looking for the tools. After this article is complete you should be able to make an informed decision on exactly what tool you require, and I will also recommend a great tool for you to use.
What plays M4A files?
M4A files can be played with iTunes, QuickTime Player KSP Sound Player Microsoft Windows Media Player and a number of other media players.
iTunes songs come in the M4A format. To play M4A files with mp3 only players you need to convert m4a to mp3 by using an M4a to mp3 converter.
Be careful of getting a tool that will only convert m4a to mp3 and no other file types. Good morning, afternoon, evening or night, whatever time you are viewing this. You are having trouble downloading videos onto your MP3 Player? Well there is a reason for and you probably won't like this... There is no way you can play videos on this MP3 Player. Sansa Clip doesn't support video files, only music files and audio podcasts. Sorry about this, but FixYa encourages you to come visit the website again soon. Again sorry, but I hope you have a good day, evening or night, whatever time you are viewing this solution post.

I have a sansa clip; could not find Rhapsody cards; got an iTunes card for my Mac; apparently transferred tunes from Mac to clip, see them on the clip directory from my Mac but can't see them or play them...

Your Sansa will not be compatible with the DRM used in iTunes. You can download iTunes+ tracks, which are DRM free (there are a lot of them now) or you can 'burn' the m4a files to mp3 files with a program like NoteBurner (www.noteburner.com) :: Disclaimer :: This method is technically illegal, except in jurisdictions that allow backup copies.

THE SONGS I SYNCED WILL NOT PLAY ON MY SHAKER.

The Sansa Shaker supports only .mp3 and .wav file formats. It is possible that you have synced WMA or M4A audio files that have DRM protection. These formats are not supported by the SANSA SHAKER.
Songs purchased through Amazon or copied from your music collection in mp3 format will play on your SHAKER.

The podcats that aren't recognized may be in AAC instead of Mp3 format. Use Media Monkey or some other free software to convert them to mp3 format.

Sansa player says no music but there is

It is probably because the files are not .mp3 or .wma format files. This player is not compatible with itunes's .m4a files.
