If you take the back off you will see a couple of caps in the power supply that are bulged, and need to be replace, or go to www.partstore.com and get a new power supply.

Partstore does not seem to have the part, but ShopJimmy does at $172 for a brand new one. Seems a good price to me. Do yo know of them?
    Thanks

I should also say, my tv only takes 5 mins to go into this mode. Do you still think its the PSU board?

LG tv is in protection mode, I guess. Can get it to work sometimes for a few hours, but always turns itself off and power light blinks red after that

Hello People, I have today took the back off from my LG 42LD450 TV. I had problem like screen goes from picture to like white or green lines. The tv has no functions then auto shuts off with red blinking light. I was concern and I notice my main power supply cord. The several gray little cords bind together are badly chewed. plus a black cord that is chew too. a more thicker cord. I indicated that if I replace these wires, perhaps my tv will start working correctly.. Yes we have little mice issue and this tv sucks cause there a small space were the stand goes at. can't close it either. Here's some pictures I took. sorry if blur. battery was low at the time. couldn't get flash or phone to focus.

20170522_212905 copy-n1wp1d2yjqbukp0mguo5hfo5-3-5.jpg Anyways I would try to look at these wires if you are having same issue.. I found the gray wire only cost $25. So I'm guessing the larger wire be around $25 or $30+ I hope this helps anyone that having this issue. Good luck and hopefully good luck to me.

I own a Sony KP-51WS520 that has been down in the basement unused (unplugged) for 2 years. I decided to set up my "man cave" and went to turn on the TV. It started right up but after shutting...

Hi Hank,
The Standby/Power light of the TV blinks when there is any internal malfunction in the TV. The self-diagnostic function of the TV will cause the STANDBY light to blink or flash when the television detects an issue. The number of times the STANDBY light flashes corresponds to a specific issue. There is no user replaceable Lamp in KP51WS520 TV.
Few examples are given below; some of the issues may be resolved without the need for service.
1 blink / 2 blinks / 5 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a power-related problem with your set.
3 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a power-related problem with your set. The set will need to be serviced to allow a technician to determine the specific issue that needs to be repaired. If the power light flashes three times in sequence in a Lamp TV, the lamp cover is not securely attached. Reattach the lamp cover to resolve this issue.
4 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a back light or lamp power problem.
6 blinks: - This indicates that there is some kind of audio problem with your set.
7 blinks: - This indicates that there is a temperature problem with your set. Please check to make sure that the air vents on the sides and back of the set are not blocked or clogged and there is adequate ventilation around the television. We recommend that you check and clean the vents periodically to make sure the set receives adequate air flow. If the problem continues, the set will need to be serviced.
8 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a video-related problem with your set. If the flash sequence is not listed above or the light continues to flash, follow the steps below to perform a power reset:
Try the following steps to check if the issue can be resolved.
Turn off the television.
Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.

If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.
If the issue continues to occur, service may be required.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Usually the red light is on to indacate the batteries are being charged, now the green is the only light that is on

The green light on the charger usually indicates that the batteries are fully charged and you are ready to go. Does the controller show the batteries are fully charged? Can you operate the power wheel chair for several hours? If so, you are good to go.
When you connect the charger, if the light goes to red to green within a few minutes and the battery power does not last more than 1-2 hours or less, it may indicate that that the batteries will not take a charge anymore and need to be replaced.

Please try disconnecting all the cables from the TV including the power cables then reconnect them back after a few minutes. You may also try connecting the power cord from the TV directly to a functional wall outlet. If the issue persists then service will be required.

THREE Blinks
B+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit goes to the standby
mode then displays the 3 blink fault. This is also a problem in the power
supply circuit, check T603 and R672.
FIVE Blinks
AKB circuit (AKB), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about
30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. Also unit be in IK blanking,
try turning up screen slightly.

Need Help big screen turns on thens goes off

a tv has two components, firstly a power supply produces high voltage to trigger a line transformer, in turn a transformer produces smaller voltages. firstly check if the ht is constantly been produced from a supply, if this is there than go to a line transformer, and check voltages at the output.
