Question about Fisher and Paykel GWL11 Top Load Washer

1 Answer

Stops mid cycle

My Fisher Paykel is about two years old. Now it stops about mid way through the wash cycle and continuously beeps until you stop it. To stop it you have to power it off and start it back up again and with this it finishes the cycle.
Any ideas?

Our FP washer, also two years old, beeps several times during the cycle. When we hit the Temp button and then the Start button it starts right back up. It used to do this only at the beginning when it first started a wash but lately does it thru every cycle. It's not only annoying but we're unable to use the timer function because of it. My dh says it's draining fine and we've never had an issue of standing water or flooding.  Just today it was doing this and then the entire tub/basket inside tilted to the right and stayed there. Unfortunately, we can't find the manual/cd that went with it.

Dd603 stops mid cycle with no beeps or alarms

Please check if this happens with the short rinse cycle as well.
Also when the fast cycle stops, check if the water is cold at room temperature. Normally water temperature for wash cycles should be at leat 40deg C.

Washer stops during rinse cycle and beeps at me

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Lid Switch Assembly If the washer stops mid cycle the lid switch assembly might be defective. This is a very common problem. The lid switch assembly can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any electrical switches with an Ohm meter for continuity. The switches should have continuity according to their design
Door Lock Motor and Switch Assembly If the washer stops mid cycle the door lock assembly should be checked. The door lock can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any switches on the door lock with an Ohm meter. The switches should have continuity according to their design.
Water Inlet Valve If the washer stops mid cycle the water inlet valve cold water side may have failed. Most washers have a cold water rinse and so if they can't fill with cold water they just sit indefinitely waiting for the cold water to enter. If there is cold water to the water inlet valve and the cold water works in other parts of the cycle - or to make warm water - the valve is not the problem.

Main Control Board If the washer stops mid-cycle the main control board might be defective. This is not common. Check other causes first such as the lid or door switch and other components.

Timer If the washer stops mid cycle the timer might be defective. This part is often misdiagnosed, check other components before replacing this timer.

My Fisher & Paykel washing machine continually stops and beeps on spin cycle GW703. Move clothes around and continue, goes for a while and stops again, seems it is sensing it is unbalanced.

There should be a tech sheet located underneath the control panel that has a fault code matrix. Compare the lights to what you see on the sheet, and read the details.

Stops mid cycle

It may be a out of balance alarm during a spin cycle. Re-balance the clothes and hit start.
