Question about Logitech Cordless Mouse

1 Answer

My M305 nano reciever has failed. I can get it to work by plugging it in half way then pry it a bit, then it works for a while, or until it moves. Everything else i plug into my USB works flawlessly.

The plug itself has an open in it. If the LED still shines but it still doesn't work, conductors 2 or 3 are not properly functioning. If LED blinks off when you diddle with it, the open is in terminals 1 or 4. Someone handy in breaking this plug open (it will need to be cut around the perimeter to peel away the plastic) and re-soldering it will be successful in fixing this.

I could spend a lot of time describing how you heat round the screen, pry it off, move battery, remove 2 screws holding button assembly, relocate or shim button and reassemble it, but it's easier to point you at someone else's good work and some videos (thanks to those people)

Logitech wireless mouse (m305) isn't working

Does this mouse need to sync with the reciever plugged into the computer?
Somewhere on the mouse and posssibly on the reciever plugged into the USB
port on the computer it should have a connect button. Usually to connect/sync
a mouse or keyboard press the button on the reciever first then press the connect
button on the mouse. Or if th mouse has a button just press the mouse button,
often the mouses lazer will blink until the mouse connects with the reciever then
just stay lit at this point it sould work. Another Question, how are the batteries in
the mouse?

Okay I have a 14-month old Toshiba Satelite M305-S4910. A few day ago the screen began to flicker if it was tilted to certain angles. That got more extreme until now I can't get the display to work...

I have a M305-S4831, the screen started flickering a couple months ago and it seemed that the problem was related to the position of the open screen.

Somewhere I read that the cable connector has very tiny contacts and one may need a new monitor cable. Well, this is what I did with fantastic results:

1. I removed the 4 screen frame screws which are under the 4 plugs.
2. Carefully remove the frame, there are the normal plastic snap into place clips around the frame on all four sides. Use a very thin screwdriver or knife blade to get the first of the clips to release then just keep going around until all clips are free. CAUTION: the wireless antenna cable goes along the left side of the screen from bottom to just around the top left corner.
3. Notice the cloth covered cable on the left side that ends with a white plastic plug set. Mine was "secured" by a small piece of yellowish scotch tape.
4. Gently unplug the connection, I used my fingernails ever so slowly to get it apart, then reconnect together. This 'scrapes' the contacts clean a bit.
5. Get out your favorite hot glue glue gun and heat it up. Then I just hotglued the cable to the cover inside surface for about a half inch distance backward from the white plug. I secured not only the cable but also a bit on the connector itself as well.
6. Now when I open and close the lid, the cable end is fully secured but the cable is still free to twist as required.
7. Restart the computer and check your screen by carefully moving the cover...the screen should not flicker any more.
8. Reinstall the monitor frame and 4 screws and plugs.
9. Enjoy a normal monitor.
10. I did not want to buy anything, and I figured I had nothing to loose by trying this. So far it has worked for me.

M305 Logitech Wireless mouse with nano stopped working on Laptop

This is a difficult one to answer so lets go through it.
You have a M305 thatrefuses to work and your OS says is returning an error.
You've quite rightly checked the Logitech site and found out that it appears to be a common fault as many people are reporting the same issue.
Logitech have not resolved the issue.

All the above are valid reason for retun to the vendor for replacement/refund.

However you WANT to replace a M305 (a model with know issues) with ANOTHER M305 which will have the same issues as Logitech have not resolved the problem.

I will have to think long and hard before giving a definative reply.
