Open Question

When I scan to email using xerox 5655 its times out with error "Failure transferring job to network server". and other wise will just stay on transferring and when I delete the job I'm unable to and have to do a software reset and then it deletes it with error "unable to connect to remote server". Im using a valid email address for scanning purpose and its activated on exchange server and also I have added a new Relay for recieve connector as per previous settings that worked. But still does not do anything. Xerox was onsite already and did the clean firmware update but still same issue. any hints / solutions will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,
Check the exchange server setting's, permissions,
Check this user's account's properties dialog box is setup correctly, like the rest of the user's.
check the E-mail forwarding list too, possibly not on it.
Update the receiver's list.

The only way to reset the image unit drum is installing a new one. The new image unit has a fuse which once blown it resets the counter on the machine. You can call www.iteminconline.com I have their information in my ad place. They are good techs. I once called for a 7300 image unit reset and they said it was almost the same as a 2135 and they gave me this information. well goodluck.

If the enablement code is not known, whether this is a new machine or not, contact your Xerox Sales Representative to obtain the code. Only the Xerox Sales Representative will have access to the enablement codes.
Unfortunately, there is no way to obtain an enablement code outside of calling your Xerox sales rep for the following features:Scan to File (Network Scanning), Scan to Email, Server Fax, Network Accounting, Embedded Fax, Internet Fax, or Overwrite Security

Job failed because scan name is invalid


Hi Anonymous / Kenneth,
I assume you must have this problem sorted by now. ( 2012.)
Perhaps there's a firmware up grade you could look into?
Perhaps you must have to check this problem with your Xerox Concessionaire.

Xerox scanning error 027-516:server connection error in smb


This means that your machine cannot connect to the network share to which it is supposed to write the scanned documents.
There may be several causes:
- if it worked before, perhaps the server or computer with shared folder to which the Xerox unit is configured to write files is unavailable/switched off, or the shared folder is not shared anymore or has changed security permissions, preventing the Xerox from writing, or the share name has changed
- if it never worked, perhaps the Xerox needs configuring prior to use (how it should deliver the faxes, via network share or email). Refer to it's manual on how to configure scan delivery.

Error code 016 781


The 016-783 error message indicates that “Cause – Could not find the specified server path during file”.
The folder that the Xerox scanner job template uses to deposit the scans in had previously been deleted, so I had recreated the shared network folder. What I had neglected to do though was to recreate the sub-folders that the Xerox Job Templates use for the scans.
After recreating the subfolders that the file repository setup referenced in the job template I had no more error codes with that scanning job template.

Unable to send scanned document


What error code are you getting? Try to scan again and let it fail. Press system monitor, scan, log. Look for jobs with Result of NG. Highlight one and press details. At the top, look for Result: NG (####). It will display an error number there. What is that error number?

751 cannot connect to server
7xx cannot connect ...
8xx could connect, but error...
801 bad user/pw or firewall
802 user/permissions
899 unknown if successful, may be normal

Check additional functions, system settings, network settings, email/ifax settings. Check SMTP server IP and authentication / encryption.

Ignore POP or recieve options as they are for IFAX.

Setting up a scanning template using CentreWare Internet Services (CWIS) will fail if the user login name is a domain user, for example, ADSdomain\testadmin.
  1. Open an Internet web browser.
  2. Enter the IP Address of the machine in the Address field, and then press [Enter] on the keyboard. The CWIS home page will be displayed.
  3. Click on the [Services] tab.
  4. Click on the [Job Templates] link.
  5. Click on the [Display Job Templates Screen] button. The Device Template window will be displayed.
  6. Click on the [File Repository Setup] radio button. The File Repository Setup window will be displayed.
  7. Select the required File Repository from the File Repository Setup pull-down menu.
  8. Enter a username that only exists on the SMB server in the Login Name field.
  9. Click on the [Apply] button. A 'Settings have been updated' message will be displayed.
  10. Click on the [Back] button. The File Repository Setup window will be displayed.
  11. Click on the [Template] radio button. The Device Template window will be displayed.
  12. Click on the [Create New] button, and then setup the template again.
  13. Click on the [X] in the upper, right corner to close the Internet browser window and return to the desktop.

There is an error in the in the server password or a template setting.
Here is the documentation. Pretty straight forward

Login to the Server was not possible during Scan to Server file transfer.
arrwup.gifInitial Action Refer to BSD 16.1.
Power OFF/ON
arrwup.gif Procedure Set the login name and password in the destination server.
Set the attributes of the Job Template file correctly.
From a client PC, set the same account as the above as a resource using CW.
