Question about LG WD-1280FHD Front Load Washer
I have got this error on my front loader washer machine and i have the user manual so i know it is motor over load. I am a multi skilled enginner so i stripped the unit and cleaned and checked all. The error is intermittent. The drum trys to turn but it is as if there is something stopping the rotation (there is not) The drum turns freely. Also when /iff it gets to do a full spin it seams slowwer and make a deep winning noise when slowwing down. I have a suspision that either there is a motor driver on the main pcb down or there is a problem with the dircet drive motor. Can anyone send me the circuit diagram or help with this. Ta Chris
The problem you are having is with the Hall sensor. To be 100% sure, here is the test proceedure, it is located on the stator. Replace this and your problems will go away. If you are not already using HE detergent, start using it, as well cut back on your fabric softener.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa
LE error in your LG front load washer is displayed when either the motor is not working or the control board thinks that the motor is locked up. A Hall Effect sensor is used in these washers which monitors the speed and direction of the motor and then forwards this information to the control board. Hope you understand by now that this LE error is displayed when there is an issue with the motor or when the Hall Effect sensor sends wrong signal to the control. Conclusion is you'll have to check both motor and hall sensor and replace the part# that is bad, usually I have seen the sensor going bad. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.
