Question about Brother MFC-3240C All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Missing manual I can't find my manual and recently replaced the black cartridge....and I can't get it aligned. I go through the motions and it tries to align it but then when I do an alignment test it comes out with the sheet with the 8 boxes on 600DPI and 1200DPI. It says that box #5 should be like box #0 and my box #5 is not like box 0. Then it says that if it is not like box #0, I should consult my users manual. Any help what I can do next?

Here are links to the manuals. You will need a PDF viewer such as Adobe Reader or Foxit Reader in order to open them:
Users Manual
Quick Setup Guide
Software Users Manual
It seems to me that you are missing part of the print alignment procedure. See page 12-18 in Chapter 12, Troubleshooting and routine maintenance, of the Users Manual.

If the unit fails after two or three proper and complete attempts, the unit might need service. Contact Brother Customer Service for further troubleshooting -- see page i of the Users Manual.

Hi...I have an HP officejet J4680 which when prints misses the top part of a word on three seperate lines.I have attempted auto cartridge alignment (many times !).I have replaced the black cartridge.I have...

Try to remove the ink jet cartridges and blow with compressed air in a can.

Also, try to download the latest drivers and firmware from the hp.com site for your printer.

If this doesn't work, then the printer may be damaged beyond repair, especially if you have tried to align the cartridges, and clean to no avail.

Luckily, ink jet printers don't cost that much compared to homework backing up, so i would consider a new printer.

Missing printed lines form HP Officejet J5750 All in One printer

The cartridges may need to be cleaned by the printer. Check for this option on your user's manual, they will usually refer to it as a nozzle check/clean.
If the cartridge is clogged and does not unclog replace the ink cartridge. Contrary to what people might think these cartridges have a shell life and can be faulty out of the box.

Ink cartridge carrier jam

If possible, shut off the printer completely and manually move the ink carriage to where the cartridges can be swapped out. turn it back on and try again. try to see if some mechanism that holds the missing cartridge in place has swung down and is bumping into something, preventing the carriage from moving past a certain point.

Canon i455 not printing properly

(i posted this for someone before)

When you remove the black cartridge there will be electrical contacts inside the printer that lines up with some contacts on your cartridge, make sure these are clean

Also, according to this printers manual, have you tried a printer head align?

"(1) Open the Printer Properties dialog box. See Opening the Printer Properties dialog box directly from the Start menu
(2) Click the Maintenance tab.
(3) Click Print Head Alignment.
Follow the instructions on the screen."
