Dead 42" plasma - power problems

You info was very helpful however. I pulled the back of the TV off and checked the fuse at the AC input on the board. It did not beep on the multimeter. I am going to radio shack to find the fuse now - thanks a BUNCH

My dead 42" plasma - power problem

I have same issue with Samsung HP-S4253 Plasma. The fuse is a Littlefuse (manufacturer they do not sell), I have search and called over 20 places and the latest is Fuses Unlimited but it is discontinued and they do not stock but they can order. I will not be able to contact them until the holidays are over. There most likley is a minimum order. If there are other fuses you need write down part #'s so you can fill the minimum if required.

If there is anyone out there that can help with finding these hard to find fuses it would be appreciated.
There are most likey other Plasmas or TVs that use the same fuse just have to figure out witch ones they are.

Fuses on Power Supply Board: The 8 amp is the one I require.
T8AH250V P
T10AH250V

Break Down of Fuse Description:
T = Time Lag
8A = 8 Amp
H = High Breaking Capacity (Ceramic) 1500A @ 250V AC
250V = 250 Volts
P = RoSH Compliant

My dead 42" plasma - power problem

I went to Radio Shack and bought a 4 pack of 6.3amp 250v glass fuses (5x20)...stuck one in and it works like a charm.

Anyone know of any problem using a 6.3amp fuse instead of an 8amp one? I am thinking it just would blow out sooner...and I have 3 more I can go through until I find an 8amp fuse...am I crazy?

ESA 42" plasma tv not turning on

I have a 42 inch plasma and I was watching tv last night on it and suddenly it turned off on it's own. I tried turning it off and on and nothing happened. Then I tried to unplug it and replug it and nothing. My remote does not work either. Anyone know what exactly happened? Did my screen blow or what? I hardly ever use the tv and I only had it on from 8:30 p.m. - 10:20 p.m. and it turned off. All the other tv's in my house worked fine - I checked them. Also, my dvd player and cable box is on the same power cord and both of them work. Any solutions or help would be most appreciated!!! Does it just need to cool down or did I burn something out? Help!!!

Electricity went out in town, tv won't turn back on.

On this type of problem, the first thing I check is the AC line fuse on the power supply. Follow the Ac plug wire to the power supply board and where it plugs in, you will find the fuse. If: Then: It checks bad. Replace it. It goes out again. Call a Servicer. It is good. Check for the five volts that goes to the Main PCB. No five volts, change the power suppy (SMPS) Five volts is there, more than likely the Main needs replaced and SMPS. For a Samsung Servicer in your area: 1-800-SAMSUNG
