Question about Roper 24 in. RUD1000DB Built-in Dishwasher

Open Question

MY Roper WU0800x1 dishwasher does not spin the washing arm. In fact, water just bubbles from the center. I don't know if I need a new water pump or if there are parts missing; the unit was in my RV when I purchased it used. Does anyone have a schematic of the internal parts?

Most washers have a small screen at the water inlet valve. They can be accessed simply by revoving the hose from the back side of the washer, using a small screw driver you can carefully remove the screens and clean them out under a faucet. That may be all that is wrong.

SOURCE: Roper washing machine not going through rinse cycle.

Good Morning,
Sounds like your cold water valve is not opening. If you are handy with a Multimeter check the selector switch that you use to set your cold water for good continuity when you activate it. You should have a good steady reading on the meter. If the meter is fluctuating or has no reading at all the switch is bad. If the switch checks out good, check to see if there is voltage to the cold water valve terminals when the machine is calling for cold water. If there is no voltage, you will have to locate the relay or source that supplies this voltage and replace it. If there is voltage the valve is faulty and needs to be replaced.
I hope I helped you today.

Make sure you get water to the dishwasher. Check to see if the water shut-off valve (located under the sink) is open. If you get water to the dishwasher, but there is still no water inside during the fill cycle, the problem might be with a faulty water valve (located at the bottom of the dishwasher, behind the kick panel, on either side), in which case replace the water valve.

  1. Check the water temperature. Should be 125 to 140 F.
  2. Check pump re-circulation., Listen, see if it sounds like it is spraying the water around with enough pressure.
  3. Check water level when the fill cycle has completed. Should be just under the heating element. If not, possibly need to replace the water inlet valve.
  4. Check the spray arm and pump cover for splits or leaks.
  5. Check to make sure dishwasher is draining after each cycle. There should only be a little water in the bottom of the tub.
  6. Make sure the dishes are loaded properly, or dishwasher is not overloaded.
  7. Possibly try a different detergent. Some liquid-gels will bubble and a pump cannot pump bubbles.
Scrape away large pieces of food, bones, pits, toothpicks, etc. Burned on food should be loosened before loading. Empty liquids from glasses and cups. Foods such as mustard, mayonnaise, vinegar, lemon juice and tomato products may cause discoloration of stainless steel and plastics if allowed to sit for a long period of time. Unless the dishwasher is to be operated at once, it is best to rinse off these food soils. Load racks so that large items do not prevent the detergent dispenser from opening. If the dishwasher drains into a food disposer, be sure disposer is completely empty before starting the dishwasher.

What if your maytag dishwasher is filling with water but neither wash arm is moving? Is this a simple fix with a new part and if so what part or is it more serious.

The wash arms are moved by the pump pumping water through the arms if they move if you spin them with your hand then the pump is not running. It could be that the motor is not getting power from the circuit board or the pump motor is locked up or burned out. So it would take a new motor.
I don't know how old this is but the newer ones were direct drive it could be possible that this one could be belt driven so it may only need a belt..... Hope this helps.

No water pressure.. bad pump or motor?

Try filling water from the front manually. Check whether every thing works normal.

If works OK, check your water inlet for free flow.Try the inlet hose externally by flushing water through the hose.

Check whether any air lock. If air lock noticed, air will flow in broken streams.Flowt will become OK after some time.

Try now in the machine by connecting.

It could be a motor or a pump issue. The dishwasher has a motor that attached to a pump which forces the water up into the sprayer arms and during the drain cycle, it pushes the water out of the dishwasher.
The motor (and pump) located beneath the dishwasher.
Check if motor spins. In case it spins, the problem is with the pump ,in case it doesn't spin it could be a motor problem or a motor and pump problem.

First of all: filter plate clean? Clean any locked hole.
1) Can you remove the upper spray-arm and verify if holes inside are locked by any residus. Clean the holes , and check if pure water come out when you fill the center hole with some water.
2) Switch on the dishwasher , coldest wash cycle dish-washer empty and without the upper spraying arm. Once you hear water streaming in, open the door and look if a little water fountain comes out from the center hole where the upper spraying arm was fixed. If not, this canalisation is blocked and should be cleaned. Try to continue the wash cycle, often the water pressure will clean itself this canal. Check also lower spray arm: it should be rotating a while and ejecting water thru its holes. If not, verify this canalisation as well.

3) Put the spraying arm again on its place, verify also the sealing else water pressure is going down and spraying will not turn and spray water.

4) Again, continu a wash cycle, open the door and look; upper arm should be rotating and some rays trown out.

Hopefully, this helps .

If not, pump pressure may be low; have a repair verify, can be that only brushes in the motor must be replaced, can be the pump worn out and to be replaced at all.

Water not pumping through wash arms

It would be helpful to know the model no. of your dishwasher.

I few things to check
1. is the water getting into the unit - tap on etc.
2. are the spray arms free of debris - remove and clean the holes
3. do you hear the arms rotate when unit is turned on.
4. how do you know the water is not pumping through the arms

Hopefully we can diagnose the problem for you.

Washer arms do not spin only squirt water

Sounds to me that the arms are pluged. The arms can be removed by removing the center nut or screw. Remove them and run it with them out and listen if you hear a strong spray, you should. Wash the arms out in a sink paying attention to the water coming out the small holes that nothing is trying to come out of them and that the water flows free, then reinstall them. let me know how it goes.

Moyer Diebel Dishwasher arms are not spinning and doing lousy

Hello there
First to check is the water level is it just cover the round filter and no more, or is it much lower from the filter. It seem you have not enough water in the tank to do the washing that is why you have a lousy washing job, not enough water to spray upwards don;t talk about the top spray arm , the water doesn't reach there at all.
You can check it out by manually fill the machine with water up to the filter and start the machine up when the machine is running open the door and you can see the water spray up to the top be careful the water will spray out to your face too.
This is only to check to see the motor is running normally.
If the water level is good ( that is just touch the filter) and the problem still there, then the other cause the problem will be inside the pump motor the part call the impeller may need changing.
Do you have the manual book so I can show you which part we're talking about and let me know where your district so I can tell you where to get the parts from . My email address is dickson@lau.com God Bless Have a nice day, Dickson
