SOURCE: Ruud Furnace won't turn on

Take of the access panel on the furnace and look for a wiring diagram either on the back of the panel or inside the housing. There will be a diagnostic chart on it that will give you a hint what 2 flashes mean. I think it is a "no Ignition" code. If it is, with the access panel off and the door switch taped in the closed position, the furnace will try to start if the thermostat is calling. You want to look at the control module to see if it is flashing, then you should notice a small fan that pushes out the combustion products start to turn. Then if you look in a small view port, you should see an orange glow followed by a clicking noise at the gas valve. Then you should notice a blue flame in the view port. This flame must stay on for 5-6 seconds or the unit will turn it self off. If one of these do not happen, you will need a technician to troubleshoot it. Check to see if all wires and hoses are tight and in place. Make sure your condensate hoses are not blocked and free of water. Make sure there is no blockage in your vent pipe(s).

SOURCE: furnace won't kick on

Downstream of your fan discharge there is a little plastic assy. most likely that will have a pickup tube and a piece of vinyl or latex tubing attached. First check to make sure that the pick up tube and/or tubing does not have a restriction. If it is clean use an ohm meter to read resistance across the switch to verify it is operating.

SOURCE: Goodman GMS90904CXA Wont ignite, light blinks 3 times

I had the same problem, I had to remove the lower black rubber stopper right next to the exaust fan and hook up a drain to the unit, as soon as the water drained out the furnace fired right up.

SOURCE: Rheem Criterion II Furane would not ignite

what you need to do is take and inspect the hose that goes to the pressure switch and make sure that it is not dry rotted. if it is and the combustion blower is running then firsat try to cut the hose down and slip on a better piece of rubber. If not then replace the hose,

Miller furnace says pressure switch is open

you have a bad VPS-Vent Pressure Switch- it monitors oxygen and gas mixture to allow furnace to fire up-- you can get part at a local Heating and AC supply house just call and give model and possibly serial number and they can tell you if they have the part and cost.

My nordyne m1 mb 056a bw heater isnt working...a red light flashes twice, which means "Pressure switch is open"...how do i fix it?

First, I am assuming that this is a residential gas fired furnace. 1. The first thing that will happen once the furnace gets a call for heat is the small draft inducer motor will come on. 2. The pressure switch should close. If the switch is not closing, here is a list of possible reasons: 1. The draft inducer motor is not running. 2. There is a restriction in the flue or heat exchanger. 3. The tubing from the pressure switch is not connected or has a leak. 4. The pressure switch may be defective or stuck open. Note: this is not an exhaustive list, but should cover the most common causes. Also, you may have to unplug the furnace and then plug it back in before it will try to come on. It may be locked out on the control board because of the pressure switch fault. I hope this helps!

FURNACE WONT FIRE UP, LIGHT INDICATOR SAYS PRESSURE SWICH OPEN W/ INDUCER FAN ON..

Does it sound like water splashing in the blower housing? If the fan does not come up to speed, it won't make the pressure switch.

Two year old goodman gas fired unit. Led light blinks once , furnace starts up fan turns on and turns off. will not fire gass. art.obryant@yahoo.com

Hello. sounds like a pressure switch issue, the pressure switch is open it must checked for a restriction in the flue pipe or blockage in the vent, the tubing going from the inducer motor to pressure could be loose, blocked, or have water in it, or the switch it self is going bad.

The led indicator blinks 3 times on an Amana 90 furnace. What does this mean? The furnace won't fire.

Pressure switch open. Remove the small hose at the blower assy and gently **** on it. You should hear the switch on the other end of that hose change states. If not then it's the hose (cheap) or the switch (100 bucks but tough to find 2 years ago) or the wiring to/from or the control module. If it does do you have a bunch of white **** (the gasket) coming out of the black blower mount? I had to remove broken gasket and Permatex the seal to create the proper pressure; that's probably your problem as well.
